I had a very poor experience with the Gateway Animal Hospital. I took my dog in to get spayed on a Friday morning at 8:30 a.m., as I was instructed by the hospitals staff earlier in the week. They promised to call me when she was done with her surgery to let me know her status. I waited all day with no call. I called once at 4:30 pm and was told that my dog was about to go into surgery and AGAIN promised that I would receive a call when she was finished. 7:30 pm came and went with no call. When I called this time, the message I received was that the hospital closed at 7:30 pm and no operators could be reached at the time, so I drove to the hospital to find out my dogs status. When confronting the staff about the situation I was met with shoulder shrugs, excuses, and other very non-professional behavior as to WHY I was not notified at all during the day about my dogs status, OR that they were going to have to keep her overnight (merely because they were unable to finish paperwork now that they were "closed"). If I hadnt gone down it is likely I would not have known where or in what condition my dog was until the following day. Also, no veterinarian even came forward to address the issue even though I had asked to speak to one. This negligence on the part of the Gateway Animal Hospital is unacceptable in my opinion and should not be excused. I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

My family dog was hit by a car on Saturday and a little girl and her mom saw him on the side of the road and took him to Gateway, he was alive. but he did die at the hospital. He didnt have any tags on so no one called to tell us (which is ok) We called around to all the shelters/humane officer/animal hospitals seeing if anyone had dropped him off, we were told by Gateway that he was not there. So we put signs up hoping someone would know something as to where he was or what had happened to him. The little girls mom called us to tell us they had indeed dropped or lil dog off at Gateway when they saw him on the side of the road. Since he was an "unclaimed" dog they sent his body off the a landfile to be tossed away like trash. When I called to speak to someone about why we were told our dog wasnt there when we called on Monday, the woman told me the same people who were working Saturday didnt work on Monday so they didnt know! I asked her why they wouldnt go LOOK.... she put me on hold to come back to tell me SORRY but we didnt know he was here when you called. We will never EVER take out two other dogs to Gateway Animal Hospital again!!!

They dont deserve even one star. I took my baby to them, only because they were the only vet opened, and they gave him some pills for pain. The next day I finally got my dog to take the pills they gave him and it caused him to have a seizure. They refused to see him again because we had no money, because they took it all the previous day. I watched my baby die in front of me because of them. I watched him stop breathing because of them. He died because of them. When it comes to animals and if its the career you choose because you want to save animals, then money shouldnt matter. Its sad that we live in a world where money matters more than saving lives. I say, if you really and truly love your pets never take them here. And Im not the only one this has happened to, its happened to someone I know. They dont care about helping animals as much as they do about getting money.

Thank you Dr. Brown and your AMAZING staff (Lacy, Amber & the other great staff) for saving Rosies life and giving her EXCELLENT care during the four night stay she was with you, providing IV Fluids & medications. I want everyone to know, Gateway was NOT our local vet (they were unable to see her). As a walk in, they did not hesitate; they took us right in and started taking care of her. Gateway Animal Hospital truly cares and is genuine from the heart about their clients and families!! They let my kids and I visit during her stay and I called a lot for updates and they were always wonderful to answer my questions. Gateway is now my vet and I HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Took my pup to them because she turned sick. Told them I didnt have much money. Got second class treatment because of that. Would not help my pup either. VERY COLD HEARTED PEOPLE if you dont have the almighty dollar. My girl died a while ago thanks to a bunch of greety morons. Will spread word of how greety these people are. More worried about selling candles there.

Gateway has the best prices around. They have friendly staff that love animals and are always full of smiles. They also sell other cat and dog products such as: animal odor candles, dog & cat collars, and specialty items. The waiting room is spacious. They also have a bulletin board of missing animals and a tv in the waiting room. Decorated nice and clean.

My German Shepard had stepped on something and gashed his paw pretty good. My usual vet was closed, so i found the closest one and rushed him over. They not only got to him immediately but made me feel like they truly cared. Very pleasant staff. They called me numerous times for updates as well. Very pleased!

When we took our little Harley to gateway she wasnt responsive or alert, she was close to death, she had a large pup stuck inside her and they had to do emergency surgery on her, after being there a week, we got her back, they saved her life, from now on Gateway if our future vet

My kitten was very sick he they treated him very well. They took him as a walk in because my usual vet couldnt get him in in time. The prices were very reasonable. Fantastic prices and amazing staff.

Cheap but high quality care. The staff genuinely cares about every animal they see. The only bad thing i can say is that there is normally a long wait because of how popular they are.
