This vet is awful! She told me that my dog was fine and just had an infection. She gave him steroids and pushed us out the door. She was very rude to me because I was asking questions since I was concerned that it was more than just an infection. The prices were astronomical! I started giving him the medications that night and by the next day he was much worse. I took him to the emergency vet in Pittsburgh and I had to leave him there. I got a call about 2 hours after dropping him off and the vet there told me he was very sick and only had at most a week to live. She suggested I bring him home and just try to keep him comfortable and spend as much time as I could with him. She gave us medicine to keep him comfortable and I had him for almost another 2 weeks before he stopped eating and could no longer stand up. I drove back to Pittsburgh to have him put to sleep because the vet there actually cared about him! The Dr. at Long Run Pet Hospital was horrible and did not even care to take the time to listen to my concerns and get a real diagnosis for my dog! I will never go back to this money-hungry, rude, uncaring vet and I suggest that no one else does either! Oh and they were very unorganized as well! I had to wait for almost an hour just to be seen and the receptionist had lost the chart of the person in front of me and they stood in the front talking about it. What incompetence! I guess that should have been my first clue to run out the door while I still could!

We have had a great experience with this vet. In July 2012, we brought our 17 year old cat, Jesse, to Dr. Harrold to have surgery & remove a very large wound on his neck from skin cancer. We had been told by another vet that there was nothing we could do. Dr. Harrold did an excellent job sewing & stapling the huge wound. His hair grew back & you couldnt even tell he had surgery. A prior vet had told us there was nothing we can do, and this vet extended our cats life. We are thankful she didnt give up on our cat due to his age because he was a member of our family. Update March 2014 - Our poor cat Jesse developed fluid in his chest cavity, likely from the skin cancer metastasizing to his lungs. Since he was 19 years old & in weak condition, he was not able to undergo surgery. For a very reasonable fee, Dr. Harrold was kind enough to come out to our house in Wheeling to put Jesse to sleep. Jesse was able to pass away in peace at home and for that we will be forever grateful. We highly recommend Dr. Harrold for your cat or dog.

We have been going to Long Run pet hospital for the better part of 9 years, and I can say with all honesty that it is the most compassionate place you can go. It has a small home town touch, and will do their best for you. The staff is usually the same from visit to visit, so its like visiting family.

Dr. Harrold and her staff are tremendous. Extremely compassionate and patient with a first time dog owner like me. Prices are very reasonable and I never feel like Im getting upsold for something we dont need. Cant recommend them highly enough!
