I work in the medical field so I know there are doctors that do it for the money and there are doctors that do it cause they love helping people. Unfortunately this hospital, atleast in my experience only cares about money. I was referred to this hospital for my first pregnancy. I would never ever recommend anyone to go into labor at this hospital or really any hospital in general. 2 weeks before my son was born I was asked if I wanted to have him circumcised I said no. Was that not documented in my chart? Because I had to specify atleast 3 more times to different medical professionals I did not want it. The doctor that delivered my son told me he was going to circumcise him, not ask. I told him no Im not getting it done. The doctors were rushed the whole time, more concerned with getting my son delivered than making sure it was done correctly, thus I had a forced C-section. The nurses let my epidural run out so that when they told me I was having a c-section it had all worn off. Once in it operating room I could feel everything. I felt them cut me open, I felt them pulling my son out. I felt them stitching me up, they were pushing so many drugs into me that by the time I got to see my son for the first time and got to hold him for the first time I was so drugged I couldnt keep my eyes open. After being forced to have a c-section I was not producing milk and all of the doctors and nurses kept telling me my son had jaundice. All babies do, especially breastfed ones. A quick google search specifies that it goes away, but they kept me and my son in the hospital for a week then tried to tell me they were going to send me home and keep him there. When I said no that was not going to happen, I told them I was going to leave even though they said it was not advised. Their response? They told me that I would have to pay for the whole hospital visit. Funny cause I called my insurance and they said thats not true. They were lying to me to try and get more money from my insurance company. The doctor at one point told me the jaundice was not a big deal and he didnt see it as a big issue, the fact that my son was losing weight was the real issue he had so we made a deal to see if we could get his weight up by 5pm...another way to get a full day charged to my account...then we would be sent home with no fuss. Well 5pm came along and my son did gain weight and they tried to tell us we shouldnt leave. We left anyway. The doctors and nurses judged us and made us feel like we didnt know what we were doing and by going home we would kill our son. 24 hours out of the hospital in our own home he gained so much weight, his jaundice was gone and he was perfectly fine. These doctors played scare tactics to try and get more money from us. IF ANY DOCTOR TELLS YOU YOUR INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER YOUR HOSPITAL STAY IF YOU LEAVE AGAINST DOCTORS ORDERS, THEY ARE LYING TO YOU!!!!!!

Its unfortunate that most reviews sling mud at Aurora, while I relate to falling victim to their inability to practice medicine, I have to point out that in a mud throwing contest everyone gets dirty. That said, this review will contain only facts that I can substantiate with proof, and I will only use facts thru out this entire review and/or any revisions of said review. When I arrived In Aurora emergency center at 1:30 AM, I arrived via the ambulance the had been dispatched using 911. The attending Dr(s), nurse(s), CNA(s), and clerical staff should all be ashamed of their actions. In addition four individuals that I had contact with were either doctors, nurses, or a variation of the prior. Health care workers of any degree no the saying and for many it was a detailed oath they took known as the Hippocratic Oath which says Do No Harm. So the question now is when I make this call to speak with Aurora will I be given lies, will true remorse be given with a promise to hold those responsible including the action of holding parties responsible, or will I be shoved off again? Will see I guess however, if I am shoved off again at least this time my attorney is there and Im able to care for myself... Stay tuned I will update as needed.

I decided to see a doctor here since it is close to my house. I was "referred" for services that are covered by my insurance (per my insurance). I was billed by Aurora for the services. Its been over 2 months of me trying to get in touch with someone who can straighten this out. I have spoken several times with billing online and via phone, the provider of the service, my referring doctor (Amy Woike) office. Billing tells me that my former doctors office put through the order and diagnosis, etc. The doctor blames billing and basically billing told me "oh well". I have filed a grievance with my insurance to have them straighten this out. I also sent a message online to Aurora expressing my frustration with the situation. Customer service emailed me that someone would be reaching out to me in 7-10 days. Good thing I didnt hold my breath because no one called. Additionally, Ive been told by Aurora professionals that "I cannot go to anyone else but them since my primary doctos is with them". However, I have a PPO so I know I can go anywhere else that is in my insurances network without a referral. They try to make you think you have no choices but to see their doctors for everything.

I had severe abdominal pains so went to the emergency room at Aurora. After performing triage they had me return to the lobby, and I had to wait for 3 hours. This was on a Sunday morning with virtually no one around. I eventually had to leave because the pain became so much worse. I went across the street to St. Catherines and they got me in immediately. I spent the next four days in the hospital being treated for appendicitis like symptoms. After this incident, they had the gall to send me a bill for the triage service. I told them that I had to wait for 3 hours in the lobby. They basically argued that every emergency room is like this. After a lengthy discussion about it, I finally gave them my insurance information so they could bill the insurance. On matters of principle, though, I think they should have deferred the charge. I wont be going back there. Another thing to consider...St. Catherines has private rooms, so if you go there, you arent going to have to share a room with someone. I highly suggest choosing St. Catherines over this place.

I hate this place! Their treatment was totally unacceptable. I felt frowned on because I went in alone and I had no family with me. Another thing; They kept asking me if I wanted to kill myself when all I went in for was an infection from a surgery that was quickly spreading. The antibiotics I was taking was ineffective. And I went in because I was in a panic. The infection was getting very deep. I dont even remember seeing a doctor. The whole staff behaved like students in a f*king medical school. They didnt even give me any new bandages or dressing to cover the deep and infected wound. I felt more like I was in an ER meant for psychopaths who only wanted to commit suicide and hurt others when all I went in for was just an infection from a surgery I became worried about. They treated me like a total "nobody". God! This place totally sucks.
