Great doctors. Very rude office manager. Agreed bill was over due (probably over 3 months). Always brought my dog here and paid every single balance at the time of service (maybe over 10 visits + in the 8 years my dog lived)...except ONE time (when my family brought in my dog without me knowing therefore I didnt know there was a bill) and the bill ($53) was misplaced. I am sure they sent me many statements however i never received it - again probably my fault. I was getting married, and my dog was battling cancer - who passed away around this time. Not that the facility is obligated to call me if there was an unpaid balance, but it would have been much appreciated prior to sending the bill to collections and then adding another $50 to the bill because of that (totaling $100+) - and on top of that i had the pleasure of speaking with the finance/ account manger who was very rude and argued with me like a 5 year old- when I said " I would have appreciated a phone call prior to the bill being sent to collections" and her response was "Well it would have been appreciated if you paid the bill one time or at the time of the service" even after telling her I personally was not the one who took my dog there and my family may have ( i was not even arguing the bill) - theres was just no customer courtesy whatsoever. Too bad the doctors are great (Dr. Niesenbaum & Dr. Spar are amazing) and helped my pet when needed but this manager just turned me off and I most likely will not be bringing my future pets here. The office manager single handedly makes this place a 1 star, however, because the doctors/techs are so great it over shadows her attitude. I do appreciate all the help in the past for Simba, and Im sure he appreciated it as well! - Thank you.

I have always had great experiences with Dr. Niesenbaum and Dr.Wu over the years. Unfortunately we had to stop going simply because the practice was a bit too far as Im a non-driver. However we have used Dr. Niesenbaum on several occasions for home visits which was convenient and alleviated a lot of stress for both myself and my fur babies. Dr.Niesenbaum is always informative and realistic and exudes nothing but compassion and kindness to the pets he treats as well as towards the owners. He truly makes everyone feel at ease and never rushed. Recently I had to have my 14 year old pug put to sleep in an emergency type of situation and it just so happened Dr. Niesenbaum was out on my area making house calls. When I called the office the receptionist Shelly was completely sympathetic and accommodating and got in touch with Dr. Niesenbaum quickly and without hesitation, they said theyd be on their way. Knowing the stress bringing my pug to the vet caused her, it meant everything to have her stay in her home surrounded by her people who loved her stress and chaos free. Bottom line is if you love your pets, find a vet who not only is good at what they do, but who treats your pets the way theyd treat their own. Its obvious Dr.Niesenbaum truly loves his job and actually cares about what he does. Ive experienced too much of the opposite over the years unfortunately so Im beyond grateful to find a vet who can give great peace of mind during difficult times. When the time comes to rescue another dog, well be back at Crawford, no question!

I typically drive all the way to North Shore because I adopted my beautiful Autumn there 13 years ago, sadly she recently passed. So in ongoing support of the facility I took my 4 pound chihuahua there because she had consumed a very small amount of chocolate.! My poor baby was in distress and North Shore too was in high stress mode because they had a startlingly large number of animals well ahead of us in all various stages of distress, so we left after 30 minutes. The atmosphere seemed to be upsetting my dog. We drove to another facility whom insisted my dog, all 4 pounds of her be muzzled for a rabies shot! I said please thats so not necessary and they insisted, so once again we left. What an incredible relief to remember Crawford D & C Hospital thats been here forever. They were remarkable and caring and not afraid of a rabid 4 pound chihuahua, which of course she is not rabid! Their main interest was dealing with her immediate condition, diarrhea and not RABIES OR RABIES VACCINATIONS!!!Thank you Crawford Hospital…..

We are so happy that we found Dr.Keith Niesenbaum and the Dog and Cat Hospital!! My family and I are first time dog owners. We brought home a 9 week old mini goldendoodle in April. For our puppys first veterinary visit, we used the same vets that we had used for our deceased rabbit. I cant say that there was anything particularly wrong there, but frankly, I wasnt happy. It all felt very clinical at a time when we were adjusting to a huge change in our already busy family. (Our family is large, with children ranging in age from toddler to teenager.) We needed a doctor and a facility with heart! Thankfully, one of my children spotted Dr. Niesenbaum at a street fair. He patiently addressed all my concerns and questions. I quickly set up our pups next immunizations with Dr. Niesenbaum and the rest is history! Since then, I have been impressed with everyone with whom weve come into contact; both at Crawford and especially Great Neck. I recommend Dr. Niesenbaum and his team without reservation!

I would not recommend this facility at all. I was part of a rescue effort for Duffy, a healthy 9 year old cat whose elderly owner passed away. Not only this this office recommend euthanizing the cat, but they provided a sedative to help cage capture this gentle but scared house cat with the explicit instructions, "It doesnt matter how much you give him as were going to euthanize him anyway." This is not caring veterinary procedure and, if the vet issued these instructions, should be struck from practicing further. If, however, these instructions came from office staff, they have no training, right or place in issuing them. I would hope the practice owners would put this right. I am happy to report that Duffy has been successfully re-homed, far from where this practice might ever get their hands on him. Many thanks to all those who assisted in the rescue effort and no thanks at all to Crawford Dog & Cat Hospital.

I was referred to Crawford Dog & Cat Hospital when I first moved to Long Island in 2007 & have been going there since. The 2 dogs I had at the time received excellent care and Dr. Spar saved my Kyras life with an emergency operation. When each dog passed away the doctors & staff handled each instance with care. I now have 2 young dogs who are also receiving exemplary care there. Dr. Spar has helped me get 1 dogs allergies under control & is treating my other dog after she had emergency surgery following an encounter with discarded metal. No one there lets any egos get in their way and they work with me, respecting my opinions in discussion, to decide what the best course of action is to keep my dogs healthy. My dogs are always happy to go to the vets office. I confidently recommend this office.
