I have a Labrador/Shepherd mix dog who is now 13 years old. We had moved about a year ago so I wanted to find a veterinarian in the S. Huntington area as going back to the Vet we used to use is now almost a 20 mile drive one way. I started googling around for veterinarian reviews in the Huntington area. Island Veterinary Group kept coming up with a ton of five star reviews here on Google and a few other review type sites. I actually live just 2 blocks away from a Vets office and could just walk there, but I saw a few red flag reviews that made me a bit uncomfortable. Fast forward to THIS review. I liked that Island Veterinary Group also has a mobile vet truck and for just an extra $40 I no need damage my car, spend two hours vacuuming out dog hair, avoiding ripped seats, and best of all no need to make my dog get all nervous as hes just not a CAR dog. At this point I have seen three different Drs at Island Veterinary Group and each time I was VERY impressed with the care, knowledge and just a general feeling of Wow. I finally found the right Vets for my dog. My dog has seen a Dr Wiener, Dr. Lipsett, and last two times Dr. Angela Martin who I feel is just totally amazing. All the Dr.s are great actually. I mention Dr. Martin in particular as by chance I REALLY needed help as for some reason my dogs separation anxiety had returned..which he has had on/off most of his life..especially when we relocated three times. Dr. Martin spent an HOUR in front of my house with the mobile vet truck sifting thru tons of info to come up with a special SAFE med cocktail we could give my 13 year old dog to both calm him down AND address his rather bad arthritis in his back legs. This cocktail has worked great.and my dog immediately stopped damaging my house PLUS he seemed much more comfortable re: his arthritis pain once the meds started kicking in. I forgot to mention each time the Drs have come here they had a very nice girl named Angelina with them who is a veterinary assistant and she seems very competent and sweet as well. I have not used the brick and mortar location yet for a visit..but stopped there a couple times to pick up some medication. I believe the womans name is Kellie at the front desk and once again she could not have been more nice, the office looks cleaner than most 5 star people hotels :). In the end its not about how NICE everyone is, its how good they are. From what I can tell these Dr.s are all so very good seem to CARE, plus it doesnt hurt that they genuinely seem to love what they do and you never feel like they are rushing you. I hate to even THINK this, but one day when my dog is 90, I fully intend to have one of these Drs from Island Veterinary Group come to my home when that dreadful day will come, to say goodbye to my dog. Its great that your dog/cat family member can be at home when/if that time comes. But not to be morbid...these Dr.s are all about keeping your pet healthy and I HIGHLY recommend Island Veterinary Group.. 5 stars all the way!

Just wanted to take the time to shout out Island Veterinary Group in Huntington Station, NY! Dr. Angela Martin and Meg were AMAZING. I called the practice at 5:55PM on Wednesday night, in hysterics about my yorkie Lily and the mammary gland tumors I was told she had at another vet on Tuesday. Dr. Martin answered the phone and was so KIND and told me to bring Lily in right there and then. She did not make me wait for an appt. We drove the hour to get there and she was even more amazing once we arrived. Meg and Dr. Martin was so sweet and made me feel SO MUCH BETTER. It was a completely different experience than what I had experienced on Tuesday at a different vet. They did a full blood work panel, did two fine needle aspirations on the lumps, gave me more antibiotics for the rash that was on her back that the previous vet did not give me enough antibiotics for, sent out a specimen for the rash on her back, and collected a urine and fecal specimen to check. They went full out on making sure my little girl is alright and did everything they could to make sure they get a look at the whole picture! I couldnt be happier that I took her there and it didnt take multiple appointments to check her out completely. Thank you Heather for ensuring me that they would be the best people to take her to! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this practice for any of your pets needs! They will do the right thing. I KNOW IT! Thank you Dr. Martin and Meg! I cannot tell you how much I appreciated your compassion toward myself, my husband and most of all, my Lily! Still keeping fingers crossed that we get good results back from all of these tests! One way or another, I know we are in the best hands possible for whatever the outcome may be! xoxo!

Words cant even express how grateful I am to have found Dr. Martin, Dr. Weiner, and their entire staff. Everyone here is so unbelievably caring, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Their office is so beautiful, comfortable, and clean as a whistle! They even offer housecalls, which for someone like me with numerous pets, is a godsend. The level of caring and compassion Ive experienced here is unparalleled. I would, and have already, recommended them to friends of mine.

Amazing vets and staff! Everyone there truly loves what they do. My family has been bringing our pets to Dr. Wiener for years, and she is the voice for our family members who only bark! Our dog had CCL surgery there a few months ago, and we couldnt be happier with the experience. He was not only well taken care of, but each part of the surgery and recovery was explained to us step-by-step. Our dog was kept comfortable and happy! He actually loves going to the vet.

The entire staff are so caring and compassionate! I highly recommend them to everyone for all your pet needs whether bring your pet in to the office or using their mobile unit which I have been doing for over a year. Dr Lipsett has been coming to my home monthly to treat my beautiful Husky. I have had Dr Martin and Dr Weiner to my home also and they are all so knowledgeable and caring. And all of the techs are amazing and caring as well. A great team !

I could not have found a better Veterinarian. Doctor Wiener was not only informative and thorough, but spent the time to explain the problems and condition of my dog which truly showed her passion towards her practice. In addition her staff was beyond exemplary. Goggle needs to add another star. The "Gold Star".
