I have been going to this group for a long time. I used to have Dr. B and he was great. However I dislike the Dr. Massaro who has taken over him since Dr. Batholmew retired. Dr. B was a great dentist but the new dentist does not answer my questions, is always trying to get me have procedures done that I dont need, also is not capable of fixing a mouth guard.if broken. He would not send it do the lab to be fixed and now wants to charge me for a new one, which I can not afford. Never give out toothbrushes which I need because I am on a fixed budget. If you have an emergency good luck trying to get an appointment. Missed a cavity even when I told him to look at a tooth that hurt, he said was fine and then less then two months later had a huge cavity which definitely didnt appear overnight. Am not having good experience since my old dentist retired. If you have you just need cleanings and have very health teeth then you should be ok, but if you need a skilled dentist, I would definitely look elsewhere. Two years ago I would have given it six stars but now I say it is ok, because it would be if like I said you dont have anything complicated issues with your teeth.

Unity Dental in Penfield changed my childs appointment without my knowledge. I had my appointment card that THEY wrote at the previous appointment, had it written on my calendar, and my sister (who also confirmed the time and date when it was scheduled) had it in her calendar too. They tried to tell me "it was written wrong" on the card (which I showed them) I never would have made an appointment for the day they changed it to! They then blamed me for getting it wrong, sent me a letter 2 weeks later saying THEY need 24 hour notice for changed or cancelled appointments. But apparently they can just change your appointments and not tell you. There was no reminder sent, no phone call to confirm, nothing. Looking for a new, respectable, dentist office for my child. Will NOT go back.

I was saddened to learn that Dr. Laferno had retired, but have had great care with Dr. Massoro. Hes working hard to save 2 teeth of mine. He sat me down after examining my teeth expressed that both of them are worth saving. The one, a molar, could easily be pulled and thats that. This isnt a money issue. Both of these teeth only need their posts and crowns, because the root canals were already finished awhile ago, and due to some insurance issues, i havent been able to have the work completed. Anyways, Ive had past dentists more interested in pulling teeth rather than wanting to deal with insurance companies, so I am very pleased.

I called to make an appointment. I really need to get in to see a dentist. I was told no appointment until the end of October. The person who answered the phone thought it was a joke that I needed to see a dentist much sooner. I told the person I would call around. That was even more of a joke. Laughing I was told when you dont find one, call us back for your appointment maybe in October. Very poor customer service. If this is the attitude I get when I call for an appointment, I cant imagine the kind of service Id get from the dentist.

I made the appt in November of last year. March 9 2017 was the soonest for new patients. Got here to find out that yesterday they ran my insurance ( which they didnt have yet come to find out ) and said it was not active (which it is) Did not call me yesterday to tell me this or that they are dropping my insurance carrier may 1st. Worst service. Highly incompetent. Waited long enough even today for me to get half through all the annoying paper work to let me know any of it. Looking for a new dentist asap.

Its extremely sad that if you have to cancel one apt and you go in to the hospital for another you will be dropped by this office. It disturbs me that unity has bought them since now I cant go to the unity ridge way office. I wish I could give you no stars.

Dr. Massaro has been wonderful! Super helpful with insurance issues and helping me feel very comfortable in the office. The girls at the desks have also been very helpful in scheduling. I know they have limited spots and they do their best to get you in.

As the poster child of Unity Dental Penfield (hahah) I love everyone! But I am heartbroken that Dr. Lofurno has retired. More than an amazing dentist, hes an amazing person.
