Wow...one reviewer wrote how as soon as, in her sons case, Dr Khan was called upon to do more than sit, log time and collect a paycheck, they were summarily cut off from any further therapy. That is exactly what happened to me. In my case I had an easily resolved interruption in my insurance, which I resolved within less than a month, all things, insurance co and policy #s the same and restored, etc, but I was nevertheless immediately frozen out, informed (in my case) Dr. Thomas VanAken was "downsizing" to "retire", (but keeping hours and patients), and would not honor not even one additional apt w/ me. Then I was told I had to pay $40 to be able to make an appointment and so I did and made the appointment, which they then canceled. I asked repeatedly for at least one appointment, "for closure"--shouldnt my doctor have the courtesy, compassion and professionalism to tell me himself that he is "downsizing" me? But no, their professionalism or concern for their patients does not extend to that at all. They are horrible. Read the reviews, they are true. If you have a good experience there, wait a little, itll blow up, because they are awful in so many ways, you just have to bump up against one, and you will pretty quickly. The minute you do ANYTHING they dont like, youre literally kicked to the curb. Horrendous and really ghastly treatment of their patients. The waste of money and time aside, spare yourself the painful experience of being mistreated by these "professionals," who are supposed to be in your corner and concerned for your well-being. They are worse than charlatans, because it is within their power, and indeed is their whole reason for being in business, to professionally treat psychologically hurting people, so their disdainful treatment of their patients is even more despicable, cruel and unethical. And yes, the front staff ARE mean, and have clear and open derision for the patients, not that it matters, since if the doctors dont care, so why should they? Furthermore, my billing issue was so mishandled, as others have said, and actually continues to be unresolved. So again, spare yourself. Run, screaming! Run for your life, and scream to warn others. Spectrum doesnt deserve to be in practice, and these physicians dont "above all, do no harm"...they do plenty of harm. If I could give them negative 1000 stars, I would because that is a more accurate representation of their value as mental health providers.

To all of you who have had bad experiences, Im sorry for you. My experiences, on the other hand, have been quite different. I have found most of the front desk staff to be very nice and accomodating, though in the beginning there was a period of time when I had to make the effort to be a good patient and get to know them and let them get to know me which made any inteface required between them and the Drs. much smoother. Ive now had 3 different counselors since the beginning and theyve all been very nice. My first counselor, Tony Pucek was awesome. He had a great sense of humor and was very kind while at the same time being very attuned to my Rx needs according to the conversations we had. My second counselor, Dr. Singh, was a bit on the quiet side and there wasnt much back and forth, but he was always very nice. Now I am with Hani Kalil and he is the best! The first day I met him we actually had an instant rappor that was unexplainable. He is very concerned about my welfare and always stays on top of what is going on with my life. He doesnt hesitate to make Rx changes when he feels it will help and I do think I am doing better than I have in a long time. Remember, to those of you who have any complaints, any conversation is a 2-way street and you need to treat people the way you would like to be treated . You need to understand what it must be like to see so many people with a variety of mental health problems every day, one after another and try to keep your cool.

If I could give 0 stars I would!!! One of my elderly family members went for psychiatric help with her dementia and depression etc. When I tried to give her daughter a hand in helping her out with her mom to get a follow up appointment with Spectrum in Poughkeepsie it was IMPOSSIBLE! Literally there was never a live receptionist to speak with. Constant voice mail and no one would EVER get back to you. They even had an answering service on during the day during work hours and the amsering service DENIED they covered for Spectrum even though I dialed Spectrums phone number! There really is no quality mental health care up in Dutchess County for anyone period but as anyone who knows of people with psychiatric disabilities they cant just stop taking their meds. What Spectrum in Pok is doing to their patients by not making themselves easy to reach is inhumane and unacceptable for people who have enough stress on their plate as well as their caregivers. This place needs to be reported and evaluated and renovated to help their patients asap!

Awful.... They charge you $30 for missed appointments when the front desk signs you in. Then you sign release notices and they dont release pt info to other staff within the company that works with you so that you can get the proper treatment. So your treatment is delayed for months on in. It is robbery they will continue to bill your insurance company for servces then tell you you owe $30 for a miss appointment, dont give you the proper treatment so you have to keep going back to try to get the services you need. And they can keep charging the insurance company and collecting your co-pay. I am reporting them to NYS mental health.

Theres simply no denying that this place is a joke. My first doctor was nice, but just up and quit and nobody bothered to notify me. The only reason I found out was because I called them to ask about my appointment. My next doctor was hardly a doctor more than a surveyor. She would read me yes or no questions from a computer, ignore everything else that Id say, and hand me a prescription. They were never on schedule, I would be there at least 15 minutes early, and not once did I wait for less than an hour.

So to begin: some of the doctors present arent actually so bad. The issue is that the front office suffers from such a deficiency of organization and responsibility. Upon walking in, you can see and hear petty bickering between the front desk staff. I have called 4 times requesting a referral, and not once have I heard back. The entire operation is a conglomerate of sorry mistakes shoved into one building. My chiropractor serves an environment more suitable to mental health.

My son went there for 4 years to Dr. Kahn. The school called her up for help with my son. She told the school she was to busy and couldnt help them with him. His next visit, She gave him 5 days of medicine to ween him off his pills and told us that she will no longer treat him. There are doctors that care about there patients and there are doctors that dont want to due anything but collect a pay check. I would never recommend this place to anyone that cares about there kids.
