I will never go to an MVA clinic again. Ive been systematically ripped off. The latest example was getting charged over $20 to trim my dogs nails. They charged this for something that took less than 5 minutes and then tried to make excuses about why their nail trims are "special". In doing more research I learned that 1) MVA clinics are owned by the same guy who rips people off in every possible way. 2) MVA charges more than any other clinic. 3) I was charged twice as much for preventative medicine and for having my dog fixed as I would be at other clinics in town. How do I trust people to do the right thing when they rip me off? It is sad - Ive really liked Dr. Tomeka Smith - but ultimately, she knows about the prices and these issues too and is choosing to run her practice out of a place that rips people off. Since Ive menioned this to my trainer and other friends Ive heard story after story about MVAs terrible business practices. Someone from Companion finally called me several days after I was promised a phone call. Christine (?) was not at all empathetic, wasnt listening to my concerns, made excuses, and offered nothing to try to make the situation right (like a refund for the rip off). Off to Canfield or Farmington we go. I would rather drive a ways than do business with any MVA clinic ever again.

Companion Animal Hospital is by far the best vet I have ever been to. The staff is very knowledgeable and they go above and beyond to make sure both you and your pet get the best care. It is very clean and the facilities have everything needed to provide the best care. They get you in immediately and they is never a wait time. One thing to really point out is the excellence that Dr. Tomeka Smith brings to this animal hospital. She is by far the best vet in town and her staff as well make this facility have the entire package for any pet owner. Her experience and genuine care made me follow her from her previous location at Pittsford Animal Hospital to where she is now at Companion. This location has the ability to handle almost anything that could be wrong at a very affordable price. I would not bring my pets anywhere else and would follow Dr. Smith anywhere that is local as she is that amazing!!!

Im so sick of this place. I adopted my cat almost 2 months ago now. He hasnt pooped without diarrhea since I got him. The shelter gave me metranidazole to try to fix the problem, which didnt work. The vets first advice to me was to try more metranidazole. Guess what? It didnt work. After trying some new food myself in case it was a sensitivity issue, he seemed to be getting slightly better, but I went back because he wasnt fully healthy. They suggested Iams Intestine Plus food two weeks ago, which has made his diarrhea worse than it has ever been. My poor kittens been pooping hourly, now frequently outside the litterbox. I clean it out 2-3 times a day, which points to painful elimination. So thanks for putting him on this food. Half assed advice that Ive already tried or come up with myself. Im absolutely furious with this place and would not recommend it to anyone.

The most horrible experience I have ever had with animal care associates! I was mortified that my beloved dog was treated with such neglect, and careless concern. The young girl at the desk was obscenely rude and highly disregarding to proper animal care. The way she mishandled my animal was just aggressive and highly inappropriate. I will be making a very detailed compliant with the Animal rights association. The Vetrinarian was not AT ALL cooperative or concerned when I stated my concerns of the mistreatment of my animal by his employee. I would not Bring a wild FROG here. This place does not HANDLE animals with care or concern. All they care about is money. NEVER EVR BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE, IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMAL DO NOT EVER GO to companion care

I do love this place. Both doctors have been really sweet when Ive talked to them, but my dog usually sees Dr. Velez because it always seems to work out that way and I adore her. Always calls me back promptly even for the most silly questions I have. My dog is the kind who gets super excited to be anywhere with new people, so she can be a handful and every one at Companion handles her so well, even when her idea of love is running into you at top speed and licking you everywhere. But Companion in particular has a great boarding set up, at least for somewhere so urban. An actual grass back yard and runs that have access to fresh air are kinda rare in Rochester. I could go on...but Im sure you get the idea. I like them.

I was recommended service @ Companion Animal Hospital through my Vet Service and Im very disappointed with results my cat is over weight and unable to clean himself and his fur was matted over most of his body and I wanted his clipped and I was lead to believe this included washing because he was very dirty and smelled like feces and he was returned to me for $48.60 minus half done clipping and with incomplete clippings hanging from his body and he was not washed and he smelled worse.Companion should not advertise cat grooming then complain that cat was agitated which is normal for any cat then complete a 1/3 of the task. This is not a service I would recommend to my worst enemy!!!!!!

Never in my life have I ever been subjected to such an inhumane, nasty, uncompassionate group of so called animal care workers. Could not be more disappointed in their abilities to be kind or competent. Very aggressive, rude, MONEY HUNGRY ppl. Dont go here if you love your animal, or work hard for your money find another place to bring them. The girls up front are obnoxious, crude and aggressive. The Doctor was completely Incompetent and sarcastic. That man does not at all come across sincere or intelligent...Andy Yestrebi... wont even call him a doctor. He should not be practicing medicine at all. Big FAT zero

This wonderful place defines compassionate care -- compassion for the animals and for their humans. They treat the family and do it with extensive knowledge and experience. The kennel and staff are terrific places for our dogs and they receive a lot of love and attention above and beyond what is paid for. We are coming off a devastating loss of our puppy, and Dr. Smith and the staff members were right there with us -- helping when there was something to do and crying and holding hands with us when there was not anything else to be done. I am so grateful that they care so deeply.

Dr. Velez and Dr. Smith are both so knowledgeable and professional, yet so kind and down-to-earth. They, along with every staff member, truly care about the animals they see and it is obvious when you bring your pet there. My new puppy has a medical condition that a friend of mines puppy also had a few years ago. I was really worried that my dog would end up like my friends dog, with chronic issues all of her life, but Dr. Velez assured me there were options for a solution. I am so grateful for the high level of professional care she has given my pets!
