If I could give 0 stars, I would. My experience was as an observer of the unkind and, in my opinion, unprofessional treatment that my sweet and gentle friend suffered during her stay at this facility (May - June 2017). During a recent visit, my sweet and gentle friend told me stories of some of the uncaring and verbally abusive staff who were entrusted to care for her. I was unsure as to the veracity of these statements due to her medical circumstances. However, thereafter I witnessed first-hand how her requests to receive the treatment regimen prescribed for her were totally ignored by staff who claimed that they had been too busy to help her earlier in the morning and, most likely, wouldnt be able to treat her for the remainder of the day. In my layman observers opinion, it is my understanding that the burden should never be on a psych patient to demand the that s/he receive the care that has been ordered. Sadly, the situation escalated. Rather than get into the minutiae of what ensued thereafter, suffice it to say that my sweet and gentle friend ended up writhing on the floor in convulsions and the same staff member who refused her treatment earlier asked if she could give my sweet and gentle friend a sedative as "it would make it easier for them." My sweet and gentle friend refused. My husband and I tried to advocate on our friends behalf as she has no family in the area. It got very ugly, very fast. We were told to leave and were escorted out by a security guard. I hurled as many insults as I could at the miserable staff member mentioned above, and continued with a barrage of insults to the Head Supervisor thereafter. I have NO TOLERANCE for bullies -- and lazy bullies at that -- such that I am unapologetic of my behavior. There are not enough expletives in the dictionary to describe my complete and utter disdain for what I perceive as a thoroughly wretched psych facility. It makes One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest look like a walk in the park. By way of background, my sweet and gentle friend, a gifted artist of international acclaim, was the victim of a fraud in which she was scammed out of her entire life savings, losing everything she had worked so hard to acquire. Hence, her total emotional collapse. She is indigent and, therefore, on Medicaid, e.g., charity care. Charity and Care...I did not see evidence of either.

Stay away from this place at all costs. I was locked in this hospital against my will, drugged and mentally abused. There was a doctor there named Dr. Poland who threatened continually that he could keep me in there for 5 years if he wanted to. If you end up here they force you to take high levels of drugs if not orally, with a shot and tied down. The staff gave me reason to believe that women are abused sexually here on a regular basis. Think twice before ever sending a young woman here. Whatever happens behind the locked doors noone knows about, when you get put into a padded room, they can do whatever they want with you. The staff tried to trap one of my family members in the hospital when he tried to visit me and lock him up as well. THINK TWICE. Even state troopers are afraid of this place, its a hell on earth the cops couldnt help at all. It took me 5 years to recover from the trauma i faced at this ward. Electro shock therapy is an everyday routine, lithium is like candy. I went through withdrawal and had mental illnesses that took years to go away THAT THEY GAVE ME. BEWARE, the LORD will judge these evildoers. They are trained to detain and suck money from insurance companies, they tried to diagnose me with 5 or more disorders that I didnt even have. If you do get out, do what I did and throw the poison pills in the trash as soon as you get home and try to live a normal life again. God Bless.

my daughter been out for about two weeks and now suffer from shake attacks ,while in the 2 north ward she been man handled at least once by 15 doctors injected with 4 shots in a row two different medicines and had scars on her neck and arm where they grabbed and pinned her down to the floor her glasses was damaged and they took no responsibility for them.they convinced me to put her on other medicines which had bad side effects they did stop the medicine but dont like the fact they was always experimenting with her with different drugs and doses.also didnt like that one nurse was allowed to put hands on my daughter have her restrained and then sit in the room and taunt her while the doctors inject her 4 different times telling me lies for the cause of it .really need better caring staff

This is an excellent hospital. The grounds create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and staff. This was one of the most caring and compassionate working in-patient experiences I have ever interned in, and I completely understand why they were commended for their client centered care approach. As a former chaplain and a person who has been exposed to in patient and out patient for family related concerns, I by far highly recommend this approach to integrative care, and staff development. I love this hospital and I respect the human centered experiences I saw in my time there.

I have been to this hospital more than once not for me but with a client. I have to say of all the hospital I have been with my clients, with privacy this is the worst. The client had to stay on 4south while she was there I had to stay. There is one employee (SAM) Samuel he does not know how to knock on a door. Sam will just open the door weather the patient or I is undressing he dont care he just open the door say he is doing his job. For a unit with almost all female he is not to be working there. I spoke to not 1 nor 2 nor 3 people but still the same behavior.

A team of truly caring providers with top notch cradentials. The environment is healing and restoring space. US News & World Reports placed them at 1 in thier specialty for many years and more recently number 3 with good reason. New York Presbyterian is the go place for challenging/difficult to treat and complex health conditions. I would like to personally thank Dr. Daisy Klingman for what I consider uparrell care, skill, and experteace. She is an invaluable asset to her patients, students, and fellow providers. Thank NYPH.

I was mistreated, offended, staff is rude and unattentive, lacked attention and communication skills, could not comprehend my interest. Marie Leaf is a lier. Dp not appeal here for suicide treatment, you will be misconstrued and disrespected, the exp. Of other comments are in deed factual. This is a unlawful training center for interns. You have been warned and advised. We have transferred to DVD a security guard commiting an illegal u-turn on post road in white plains north of Mamaroneck avenue.

Under no circumstances, go here. They are AWFUL. They will lie to your doctors, lie to your family, and lie to you just to get your insurance money, even if they are unequipped to handle you. They will tout programs they no longer offer, as though they are still there, and not tell you until after youve signed all the paperwork. The nurses are punitive, the doctors dismissive and the staff generally incompetent. DO NOT GO. In fact, dont walk, RUN, in the other direction!
