We brought our healthy male kittens in for pre-op and exam to have them fixed. During the discussion, the Vet mentioned that they would have to stay overnight. I brought the information home to my Family Nurse Practioner wife, who quizzically asked why, I shrugged my shoulders. At which point we phoned the vets office to inquire as to why they must stay overnight. We were told in no uncertain terms, "it was policy," with no further explanation. Upon further questioning of the Vet by me and my wife, the vet stated that they would need to stay overnight for observation and bandage removal the next day. I understand that. Upon the question as to whether there would be anyone on staff, present over night, we were told, "no." So asked if the animals could come home for observation, mind you my wife is a FNP, RN, and certified Wound Care specialist...and we were treated as if we were speaking from our third head and asking for the letter Q to be removed from the alphabet...at which point we asked, rudely if we were still going to have the procedure accomplished on Tues...My wife politely stated we would have to discuss it, she stated that three times in very short order...I phoned a separate vet clinic, and asked the same questions regarding the procedure, it was the same, except for the fact that they maintain a surgical nurse overnight to monitor the animals, should anything happen...so I phoned River Region back and asked, politely again to have copies made of the animals records, and that I would be by on Mon to retrieve. Upon retrieval of the records on Mon, the Vet had placed, childishly, that we were rude, and she would never see our animals again...OK...thanks for your time...I would not recommend this vet, in fact I would recommend you find a different vet, no matter the distant you have to travel for care...they are rude, abrupt, and treat educated people as if we are children, asking for ice cream in the middle of recess... Thanks River Region Vets…this is only the first review/statement I am going to make…

I had a horrible experience with this veterinarian today! Dr Myers was most unprofessional during my visit and I am appalled at her behavior. I was berated and yelled at while Dr Myers was examining my pet this morning and this occurred in front of her staff! I was paying for the pet exam not the attitude and personal feelings. Needless to say, this will be the last time I use Dr Myers services for my pets. I have been using her since 2011 and spent plenty of money in her office. However, there are too many other qualified, competent and caring vets available in the local area to put up with this. I chose her because she is in my community and close to my home. I wish I had done a better job at researching her; if I had, I would have found other reviews similar to mine which would have led me in another direction. I am a responsible pet owner and care for my pets like they are my children. I would never knowingly do anything to cause discomfort or harm to my pets. There was absolutely no need for her conduct today. Now I understand why there are flyers in her office requesting her clients to leave reviews on specific sites (this is one of them) to counter the bad reviews she has received in the past. Please, please do your own research before selecting Dr Myers as your vet. I dont recommend her under any conditions.

My experiece with River Region Vet Services was amazing. We have recently purchased a wonderful puppy named Spike and our visit to River Region helped us alot. The staff was wonderful and the receptionist knew us from our last visit. She remembered Spike and was very kind, helpful, and made us feel as if we were family. I am not sure of the other reviews, but I can honestly say that I couldnt think of a better vet service to go to. As far as being to expensive I really can not agree. When I compared the prices just for Spikes vaccination we would have spent over $200 just to have them see him and do a physical. At River Refions our bill was no more then $75.50 for all his shots and physical combined. I suppose everyone have their opinions but in my personal opinion, I will go no where else for Spikes check ups and vaccinations. My experience there was more then I expected.

I visited this clinic because of the location, convenient to my home. I realized immediately that the veterinarian wanted to add every service she could think of to my visit to rack up a big bill. This was almost laughable, because she made a comment about my purse and that she had one just like it. It was a designer bag that she took to mean I had all kinds of money, and proceeded to try and take advantage of the situation. My dogs have always had continuous care with a vetrinarian and I knew they did not need all she was prescribing. My dog had some allergies and outbreaks on his belly, and all he really needed to start with was a good allergy shampoo, not antibiotics and a special skin condition medication. I would NOT recommend this clinic. I always recommend questioning medications and doing alot of your own research.

We have been using Dr. Meyers since 2012. We initially had 2 senior dogs who passed in 2013 and 2014. One of them developed cancer and Dr. Meyers amputated the cancerous leg and gave her another year with us. We adopted another rescue from the shelter Thanksgiving 2014 and took her to Dr. Meyers who immediately found parasites and identified a broken hip that hadnt healed. Dr. Meyers said the surgery wasnt absolutely necessary but we scheduled it anyway. Jan 14th she will get her hip fixed and I look forward to long walks with our new companion because right now a walk completely does her in for a few days.. I have complete trust in and respect for the staff at River Region Vet Services. They handle every situation with so much grace and make you feel so special.

The vets at RRVS are phenomenal. Some reviewers have posted negative reviews based on the vets "trying to make money by suggesting more services." To these reviewers, I say, they are the ones with the veterinary degrees--dont you think they know what your pet needs? If you just want a vet who will give your pet the bare minimum (basic yearly vaccines), then, by all means, go somewhere else. If you want a vet that will take care of your pet proactively, then this is your place. The staff at RRVS are wonderful as well. With a very low turnover rate, the front desk staff know us on sight--myself, my husband, and our pet--and always make us feel welcome and cared for. RRVS is the only vet in Central Alabama that I will use.

This vet, specifically Dr. Myers, did and unnecessary surgery, without my consent on my dog. She lies about prices of things saying a cheaper price so will say ok then when you go to pay its almost double what you were told, I have personally seen her drinking using drugs. She spreads lies about her patients owners on social media, and she told someone close to me after a major surgery she had a machine that would help her heal, but for her not to tell anyone. Thinking OK this cant hurt she let Dr. Myersdo this treatment which caused more harm to this person. People stay away from this vet, I do not want unnecessary unethical things done to my furbabies!
