My first experience with Verde Veterinary Hospital was an unexpected one. I had gotten an 8 week old puppy and two months later she became VERY ill, VERY quickly. Weighing in at only 2.5 lbs, she was extremely weak and I was afraid I might lose her. After being denied an emergency visit by my regular vet and many others in the area, I was getting frantic when a friendly voice answered the phone at VVH. Near tears I explained what was going on, and she calmly and with compassion told me to come in immediately. I rushed over. Sensing my urgency, a member of the staff approached me with true concern for BOTH our well being, and we were brought into a room quickly despite not having an appointment. The environment was extremely clean and the love for animals filled the air. When Dr. Gummo-Wagner entered the room I could have cried with relief as she immediately bonded with Lovie, soothed her, and quickly performed her diagnostics. What seemed like just minutes later, Lovie was receiving treatment and Doctor gave me a full explanation of what was happening. She treated what I considered my newborn as if she were her own, and her concern for Lovie was genuine. It was clear that EVERYONE at VVH has your animals best interest in mind at all times. Lovie recovered quickly with the loving care she received and I was hooked. The cherry on the icing? Your pet, not your pocketbook is their first priority! Whether you are local in the Verde Valley or just passing through, I would HIGHLY recommend Verde Valley Veterinary Hospital for ALL your pets needs.

I have been using Verde Veterinary for the last 2 1/2 years. Sarah Tremper, DVM has been our vet of choice. She is so gentle, kind, and very compassionate. I have great confidence in the decisions she has made while treating our beloved animals. She always does the "right thing." My beloved 16 year old cat Sambo Kitty was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago. While having weekly blood glucose tests, I really got to know the staff. The vet techs and office staff are wonderful. Ive spent so much time there that I have seen them during some very hectic times. They are always very professional. I have a special place in my heart for receptionist Patty. She has seen me in sad times and stressful times. She always made me feel that she cared. Our beloved Sambo Kitty was euthanized on 11-2-2015. Of course, it was a sad time but thanks to Dr. Trempers compassion, I left with a feeling of peace. Shortly after, I went to the Cottonwood Humane Shelter to choose a new kitten. Unfortunately, my new little Noah had an upper respiratory infection which spread quickly to our Kitty Callie. Thanks to Dr. Trempers treatment, Noah healed quickly. Unfortunately, we were unable to see Dr. Tremper right away, so Callie was not as lucky. She became very ill. We thought she was going to die. Dr. Tremper literally saved her life. Thanks Dr. Tremper for everything....Noah, Callie, and Ruger all love you....Sambo did too.

After 7 months and $600 later, I STILL had no answers as to what was wrong with my dog. The vet here ( dont know her name, dont care to ) couldnt tell me why dog was vomiting blood, pooping blood, coughing up blood, and acting lethargic. He had 2 soft lumps that she said "Im not worried about those", 2 hard lumps, one she biopsied and said she just drew blood, but couldnt tell me anything else. After a complete blood work done she said everything was normal....TWICE!! She gave him a prescription for the cough and said come back in a week for chest xrays. The following3 days he got way worse. Couldnt even stand up to poop. I called emergency vet in Prescott to put him down. He died in the car on the way there. The vet there IMMEDIATELY noticed my dogs stomach bulging. It was full of blood. He had several bleeding tumors that killed him. Because of the other vet he suffered longer then he needed to. I would NEVER recommend verde veterinary hospital to ANYONE!! This vet is a disgrace!!

I highly recommend Verde Veterinary Hospital to anybody that has pets, you will not find an hospital where your pets will get better treatment, I have been taking my pets there for the last 12 or thirteen years, sometimes for the routine visits, sometimes with emergencies, they have been wonderful to the animals and everybody involved, I had to take one of my pets to a specialist in Phoenix, and I couldt believe the way they treated my pet and myself, that made me appreciate Verde Veterinary Hospital even more. I recommended it to my daughter and she takes her pets there too, my daughter got a dog that had heart problems and the dr that saw the dog at another clinic said that the dog wouldnt live more than six months, with the caring that she had at Verde Veterinary Hospital she live about two and a half years. The Drs an the staff are the best, knowledgeable, caring, devoted and loving, I highly recommend it to anybody that loves his pets.

We were camping at Dead Horse Ranch State Park this past Friday. Our 10 year old Neapolitan Mastiff Charlie became unresponsive a few hours after we arrived. After making several frantic calls, our friends in the area asked Verde Veterinary Hospital to call us. They stayed after hours so we could get Charlie from the park to the hospital. When we arrived the Vet climbed into the back of our pick-up and did a quick exam. She gave us the choice to drive Charlie to Flagstaff the Emergency Vet, but we knew the end was near. The very caring staff took care of everything and helped me make final arrangements while comforting Charlie and my partner during the process. Charlie passed with Dignity thanks to this group of extraordinary people! Thank you so Much!!

We have been with Verde Veterinary Hospital for a along time, with multiple cats and a dog. After our dog was almost bitten to death by a loose pit bull (our dog was on a leash, my husband broke his wrist trying to get her off), Jennifer Gummo-Wagner saved her in an emergency operation and we had 8 more wonderful years with her. Also our cats were always treated professionally and compassionately. At one point I trapped feral cats in our neighborhood to have them neutered and then returned, in those cases too they were immediately admitted and after waking up went on their way again, I often saw them in the neighborhood with their clipped ears, they looked fine. Highly recommend the hospital.

Just picked up CoCo from Verde Veterinary Hospital where she had been boarded for 5 days while we had to be out of state without her. As always, it was obvi she had been well taken care of, she was happy, clean and ready to go home. CoCo is a 3 year old Chocolate Malti-Poo and has stayed with her friends at the Verde Veterinary Hospital countless time, always with the same happy results. I recommend them without reservation. She is always happy to visit the very friendly, efficient staff, who treat her like the little Princess she is. Dr. Pocernich and her tech take care of all of CoCos needs. I must add that this is all taken care of at a reasonable price.

I have been going to Verde Valley Vet. Hospital since 2004. They have always been very professional and helpful. My Annabelle, is a black lab mix and when she was 4 yr. she started hemoraging from her rectumand I rushed her over to them. They did everything for her and even allowed us to come visit her after hours and over the weekend. I am happy to report they pulled Annabelle through and she is now 11 yrs old. The staff is always as kind as they can be, but sometimes the front office gets very busy....and the phones are non stop - so give them a break.......
