The staff seems to be somewhat knowledgeable, willing to help, and friendly. The wait times are not terrible if you have an appointment, around 10-15 minutes or a little more if people are in line in front of you because they have to check every person in, in the order they walked in the door. The price seems to me to be expensive for the amount of time you get to spend with the veterinarian. This is probably because they handle, or appear to handle at least based on the amount of people coming and going with their various animals, a large volume of customers. I understand that when you deal with a high volume of customers that each individual will lose some "hands on" time with the practicing physician. This format is not conducive to retaining patients in my opinion however. As an example, the last visit I had there was with both of our dogs at the same time for the first time, and the last. On previous visits our new puppy had his nails groomed while we were waiting to check in, not so this time and not with my older dog either. The vet was in the patient waiting room with us and both dogs for maybe 5 or 10 minutes and thats generous, given that she and the assistants had to administer shots and place a microchip in the older dog. Thats at max 5 minutes with each dog, but there was never one on one time with the dogs and both were wiggling and jiggling around. The vet has failed to notice an umbilical hernia, belly button hernia, on the puppy consistently every visit and this is the 3rd visit with the puppy. While it is "buyer beware" in this world now, I would like one place that I consistently provide business to, to better honor my decision to frequent their animal hospital. I may have missed the memo somewhere and two dogs to get in and see the vet AT THE SAME TIME and get a round of shots, a fecal sample for worms, a blood sample for heartworms, a microchip, a small bottle of ear medicine ($40!), and a "check up" is normally $260. However, when there is a low cost spay and neuter clinic DOWN THE STREET that regularly charges under 50 for a microchip and neuter procedure, they should be aware that they have and will continue to lose business to them. That is fine, but to assume that people wont notice or havent noticed that theres a difference in price and not necessarily a difference in quality, is assinine. In my humble opinion as a dog owner and consumer of services that this business offers, I dont see how the position they hold in the local market is a sustainable or effective one. It may be that it is highly profitable to operate in such a way, but to persons who are aware of the situation around them it is frustrating to fall into this niche between quality of service and price of service where there seems to be a disconnect between consumers and suppliers. I would also like to say that when we were looking for a vet we asked people we knew, if they knew of a good quality low cost vet in the area. The area is Conway and greenbrier, however we live in little rock, 25 or 30 miles away. There is an abundance of animal clinics around our area, much much more conveniently located then this one, but we had heard from people we knew that had volunteered their time at this business and we decided to make a decision based on that. Hopefully this review will be read by someone who genuinely cares about their animals and will think carefully before choosing a veterinarian for their animals. In summary I would like to say that my animals are healthy, my wallet is lighter, and I am looking for veterinarians that are closer to me, and are more in tune with my needs and wants as a consumer.

I always took my little pomeranian to see Dr. Ward, sometimes I would see one of the other doctors. I trusted them with little Misty, they let her down, she passed away with what our new veterinarian called kidney failure, according to what we understand she has had symptoms of kidney disease for a very long time, symptoms that any veterinarian would find with the symptoms I would ask about and they made excuses saying "its probably acid reflux like we have" or when asked "why does she cough up yellow/white foam, they never gave me an answer on that one, and I ask Dr. Ward why does Misty shake and tries to hide as if she is scared, he said it was probably anxiety, no Dr Ward its called kidney disease. I miss my little girl so much its hard to go on without her. Please Dr Ward for other pet owners find out what the signs our for kidney disease. Rosa Hightower

I had a 11 yr old boxer that was 3 legged and was suffering so bad falling trouble breathing and copd and the woman at the desk told me that the vet coukd fix her that she wasnt suffering after seeing her for 5 minutes. Shes rude about it so I went off ive been around her for 11yrs I know my dog and the last thing I want was putting her down but I guess the receptionist didnt think her falling several times a day and having trouble breathing was considered suffering. I will not ever go back there and I would not take a dead goldfish there they made it even harder for me to lose my best friend horrible place!!! I would give it negative 5*

I have moved 3 times in the past 4 years and been to 4 different vets. Dr. Ward and his staff are the first I have desired to stay with. They know my animals by name. Every month or so I take my pup in to weigh and say hello. Everyone comes out to greet her and give kisses. My animals are not stressed when visiting here, which is extremely important to me. I am confident in their abilities to care for my animals, were anything dire to occur.

Mrs. Hightower, My name is Amy and I am the office manager here at Greenbrier Animal Hospital. We are all so sorry to hear of your loss of Misty Blu. I reviewed your account and noticed that it has been almost 2 years since we have seen Misty Blu and have no history of any of the symptoms that you mention. Again, we are all saddened by the news. If there are any questions we can answer for you, please contact Dr. Ward at anytime.

Great folks all! Family run by husband and wife, and Dr. Ward is very experienced and knowledgeable. We will drive 2.5 hours to see him when we have issues beyond shots. When we boarded there the dogs came back happy and freshly bathed. Highly recommend!

My dog seemed to be hurting in the front legs. He got me in quickly, and he didnt run me through a bunch of unnecessary tests. He was right. My dog was better in a few days with a little medicine and special care. Fantastic!!!!
