I have never gone on yelp and wrote a review but today is just a really bad day. First of all my dog is very sick with a horrible disease. The first time I went there they took my dog back immediately. The staff was alright. So they tell me she is in bad shape and needs a blood transfusion right away. The first estimate they brought me was 6000.00. Unfortunately in couldnt afford that. So we lowerd It to about 1900.00. Because that day had been such a mess I didnt have a credit card on me. I told them I will go home and get it and come right back. Just please start the transfusion. Nope! Wont treat her until the get paid. They tell me my dogs time is precious right now and she is really unstable but no treatment until they get their money! So I rush home I get the card. Of course I live a half hour away so it took an hour for me to get back. The whole Im thinking I wont make it in time! I did. Thank God! The next time I went in the staff was amazing! I loved that crew! Third time, the technician that came out was very short with me and not very pleasant. I asked him if he was having a bad day or something. He told me he doesnt show emotion so he wont get attached. Ummmm.... ok. But you work somewhere where people are upset and worried. Im not an animal Im a person. You can show me compassion! You think I want to be at the ER with my baby!!!! Today..... not so good! My dog has been really dizzy, with a swollen abdomin, and blood in her stool. So I take her to the hospital as directed by my doctor. I get there. I told them I only have about 45 min before I have to go to work. They took her back and then came to tell me there isnt enough time for them to write up an estimate. But they did want to run some blood work. I said ok can I just leave her here for 4 hours while I go to work? Nope! They said without the estimate they dont know how much it will be and I have to pay first. I said but she is really sick and now I have to go to work. I dont have time to take her home. Nothing they can do. So now my dog is sitting in the car unable to hold her bowls because payment is more important than my dogs care. I get you need your money but to turn away a very sick animal because of payment is just really sad to me. Ive been there 3 times and always paid. I wouldnt have my dog at the ER if I wasnt willing to do whatever to save her. I mean humans get treatment before having to pay but our animals have to pay first? I just dont get it. Very upsetting experience today. I was already crying all day thinking Im about to lose my baby and then I get turned away because estimate wont be done in time for me to pay the bill.

We love this place, despite the trauma that brought our pet to the hospital. Our dog, Sadie, had a terrible seizure 9 months ago, we rushed her in at 10 at night, the staff was calm and kind, and kept in constant touch with us all night as we anxiously waited to find out what was wrong. Sadie had cancer on her spleen, which had to be removed right away. They called around until they could find a surgeon for this procedure at 2AM, and saved her life. She had a happy, active 9 months after that surgery, until the cancer finally re-emerged and claimed her several weeks ago. She had one final visit there, in which they made her comfortable and gave us one special night to take her home and say goodby. They also gave us a list of vets who would come to the house to euthanize her, and we were able to say goodbye in the comfort and safety of our home, with Sadie in her bed and my husband and myself holding her. I cannot begin to express how important that was for us, and how much we appreciate the compassion of their staff, and their excellent work. I highly recommend this hospital and the staff who make it such a wonderful place.

My puppy suffered a dog bite. We called at 3:20 p.m. on a Saturday to be seen, and were warned that animals were taken by priority, severity of case. We arrived at 3:30 and were seen at 7:00 p.m., 3 and a half hours later. The people were very nice, and the place well organized. My complaint is that, although our dog was not bleeding, waiting 4 hours to be treated must indicate a failure somewhere. We were visited by the vet for 2 minutes. Literally, 2 minutes, and prescribed an antibiotic. They cleaned the wounds and we were out of there half an hour later at 8:00 p.m. $158 dollars poorer. $72 for the 2 minutes with the doctor, and $58 for 15 minutes of cleaning. My complaint is, although I understand critical care dogs must enter first. My suggestion is to get another doctor or vet tech capable of treating minor cases. We really did not need to sit there that long and pay that much. That said, if my dog ever needs URGENT care, I would probably go back.

Our older cat has been in and out of PETS several times in the last two months, and every time we have been treated extremely well by all of the staff. They discuss all options and issues with us before taking any action; they explain things thoroughly and compassionately; and they take very good care of the animals which are currently hospitalized. At this point weve worked several times with two of the doctors, Dr. MacAllister, and Dr. Sonnenshein, and both of them have been just remarkably helpful and kind. Weve also gotten to know several members of the staff quite well, and their genuine concern for and care for our cat has been so reassuring when weve had to leave him there. I certainly cant say its cheap (what vet is, really?), and it can get quite busy, as they do take emergency walk-ins, but in terms of care and follow-up, I think theyre really excellent.

We had to bring our dog to PETS due to an emergency, never a pleasant situation. The entire staff was very helpful and friendly. When the doc came back with the horrible diagnosis, which lead to our decision to have our beloved dog put down, PETS and especially Dr. Kathy Lee went above and beyond to accomodate us in a very sensible manner. They brought us to a room with soft light to say goodbye to our dog, let us sit with her as long as we wanted, and then stayed with us until the end. Our dog just peacefully fell asleep and passed away, with us around her. This experience is the toughest thing one has to go through, put Dr. Lee made it so much easier and actually always gave us the feeling that there was no rush, we had all the time we wanted. A very rare experience with any vet we have visited. Dr. Lee rocks.
