Petvet Petfood is a terrific resource for the East Bay. Marliss and Karl are caring, and excellent, vets. Angie, the office manager, is very helpful for those who need something unusual. Steve in the back, and the counter staff are great. Aside from all these fine people, the store carries the best foods at the best prices. Hills Prescription Diet and Innova Evo are still way, way, way too expensive...but less so here than anywhere else. Marliss and Karl are good people. If were being gouged, its by Hills, not Petvet. Ive been with these people, first at the Oakland store and then in El Cerrito, for 19 years now. Highly, highly recommended. Glenn Abraham May 2, 2009

the customer service is bad but the vet that visit is excellent he look at my cat and told me what i needed to fix him up and the price was only 38 $ to get him antibiotic and a check up i went some where else the last time and they charged me 300 crazy i was happy to save the money but when i went to the front counter and asked for a box to put my cat in they handed me one and said i could have it so i was assuming it was free but as i went to go walk out the door the lady yelled at me and said i had to pay for that they could have told me the price of it before they said i could have it

I tell everyone who has a pet about this wonderful very reasonably priced store & clinic. They have been great with my pets and numerous friends pets. Ive yet to hear a bad review. Sometimes theres a wait at the clinic, but its 1st come 1st serve, drop-in only, no appt.s, however the services they provide are well worth the wait. I find the staff to be exceptionally helpful and always willing to give suggestions, as long as you provide all the info on the situation. Thanks PetVet Oakland for doing an Awesome job.

Fantastic service and great price. Took my pups in for the vet clinic on Saturday, and as soon as we walked in we were greeted and signed in. We waited a while but things moved along very quickly and the staff was great about keeping us up to date on our place in line, and it was fun to browse the store while we waited. The nurses are great at what they do - my pups didnt even wince when they got their shots. Super affordable and great care. Would go back for sure

The store has a great selection of quality products and the pet clinic cant be beat for vaccines and basic care. For the popular low cost clinic you will likely wait awhile, so come prepared, However, as you are waiting you can admire all the other pets.

Been coming to Petvet since the first opened. The prices are quite reasonable the first come first served basic vet care and vaccinations is very professional. Vet tech advice and trained staff knowledgeable about animals are always on hand.

Friendly. Large selection. The only place close by to get the prescription cat food I need. Affordable single dose flea meds. Only wish they had the buy 3 get one free deal that another place has. If they did, Id buy canned food here too.

Absolutely love this place. So the prices are a bit high but with purpose not greed. They take care of so many freaking animals, including mine. When flush with cash, I go here for first. When strapped, I go here because they still care.

Possibly the worst customer service I have had. Ever. Whoever the guy going through puberty (or possibly just with a bad cold?) is, fire him now. I just called to ask the hours, and he put me on hold for 5 minutes and then hung up.

Good prices on the expensive stuff. Science Diet is a ripoff no matter what, but here it wont kill you. Avoid Saturdays unless youre needing a drop in vaccination.

Lowest prices on EVO dog food anywhere in the bay area that I have seen. From Portland OR - The dog food in Berkeley was $15 a bag more
