Let me start by saying I have had glasses since I was 7 years old. I have been to lenscrafters and assorted eye doctors and professionals for my prescriptions over the years. I was referred to Nyssen by Dr. Guetzkow years ago and have been seeing him ever since. He is amazing at what he does, and always takes the time to sit and joke around with me about whats going on in life and what video games we are playing and makes me feel very welcome. During his actual prescription test he is absolutely meticulous and takes great care in making sure that you end up with the right prescription. After having gone to places like Lenscrafters I was amazed to see how much more intense a real professional eye exam was. Its like the difference between a burger patty from Mc Donalds and a fillet mignon steak. I too had the same experience with my glasses from Nyssen as "A Google User", but I was the cause of this and I know exactly what caused it for me. I also wonder if this could be the cause for other people too - I left my glasses in my car in the heat of the summer, and the inside of cars reaches up to 140 degrees when its 90 outside in the bay area. This caused the damage to the lenses as far as I can tell because I have had this pair of glasses for years and never had this problem until after this summer during the intense heat while traveling down to LA and leaving them in the console during the trip (100+ degrees in July). Great doc, you are all welcome to continue seeing other people so that I dont have problems getting appointments for me or my family... but please go check him out if you want the best doc for your peepers in the area.

Dr Nyssen is an exceptionally skilled ophthalmologist and heres a story that shows it. Ive been seeing him for many years but in 2016, due to an insurance issue (long story), I was obliged to go to another optometrist. Despite a lot of time and effort, that person was completely unable to prescribe contact lenses to fix my vision. Fast forward to 2017, new insurance coverage, and Im back with Dr Nyssen. In 10 minutes, he figured out what was going on - early stage cataracts in both eyes - something that was completely missed by the other doctor. Cant say enough about Dr N - first class!

I have been seeing Dr. Nyssen for over 12 years. He encouraged me to get Lasic surgery in 2005 and it was the best choice I have made in my entire life. Under his guidance and care, my eyes are healthy and I can SEE. He is a caring and personable doctor and I have continued to see him, even though I moved from Los Gatos to Carmel over 5 years ago. Its worth the drive to have excellent eye care.

I got my most comfortable frames and glasses from Dr. Nyssens office! Dr. Nyssen is very professional and patient, he would really care about my eyes and explain everything in detail. The office is very clean and organized, people there are very friendly, I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a optometrist.

This guy is good and doesnt push any of his products on you. Ive been going there for over 7 years and now my wife is seeing him too. His office and staff are all professional and you can always get a decent timeslot for an appointment and you are not rushed.
