Had to switch to new doctor because my previous doctor moved on. Went to Eureka Family Practice and was placed with Dr Korenstein. My first visit was with his Nurse Practicianer, who was very nice and professional. Had a follow up appt with Dr. Korenstein to meet and go over bloodwork. From the minute he walked in the door, it was a downhill slope. He barely introduced himself when he started diagnosing my asthma. He never got to know my history or me. He just was giving a blanket treatment. I wasnt even there for my asthma. He told me I needed to be on a medication that I was on in the past which didnt work for me, but he continued to push the issue. He was condescending, insulting and very unprofessional. His tact and manner were deplorable. let alone his blanket approach to medicine without getting to know the patient. Upon reporting this to the Practice Supervisor, I was abruptly dropped as a patient. So not only would I never recommend Dr. Korenstein as a physician, I recommend everyone stay away from Eureka Family Practice. Just another blemish on medicine in Humboldt County.

I went for my first visit with him, and he basically called me a liar twice. One of the supposed lies was that I had not gone to a scheduled procedure at the hospital a year before. I told him I certainly had gone, and he told me that I hadnt! On my next visit, I brought proof from my hospital procedure, and he just shrugged it off and said the records were in his computer. Very unprofessional and arrogant and flippant.

Dr. Korenstein is my two daughters physician, as well as my own. I have been very pleased with his level of professionalism and friendliness. He is very intelligent and competent. He sets my young daughters at ease by keeping them laughing with silly jokes, while also giving them sound advice about safety and health related issues. I would highly recommend him to others looking for a doctor.

Dr Korenstein is very rude and condescending. He was demeaning nd wouldnt answer my questions. He misdiagnosed me and I wound up in the emergency room.
