I was referred to this office by my primary care doctor because I needed a procedure done that she didnt do. I was told by CFMH (Cabarrus Family Medicine Harrisburg) staff that none of them could schedule me for this procedure, only the RN that assisted with the procedures could. She only works Tuesdays and Thursdays. After two voicemails to the RN, countless calls to the other staff (asking if this was customary for a patient to not receive a phone call back from this RN or did it take over a week to be scheduled by her - they assured me this was not how business was conducted) and a note being put in the system that I was "high priority" - I called my primary doctor and told her what was going on. I received a phone call that day from a Charlotte number that I didnt recognize. It belonged to the RN who told me to call the CFMH number. (it was a Friday - she only works Tuesdays and Thursdays and therefore wasnt there - yet she wants me to call?) I left yet another voicemail per her request. This coming Thursday will be the 2 week mark. I was already nervous about this procedure. Now on top of nervousness Im frustrated and now dont trust the competency of this office. NOW. I cannot review the doctors. I was told to see Dr. Rung or Dr. Hayes. But that is impossible as I cant get a phone call back from apparently the only person who can schedule me. This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. All the girls I spoke with on the phone were very courteous and understanding and as helpful as they could be. Every time they paged the RN (on the days she was there) she NEVER picked up and I only received a call back from her (unknown number) because my doctor mustve called her. I read the google reviews today - it seems to me that there is a pretty common dominator in nearly every review. Something needs to be done about this office. A competent RN, additional RN and/or an assistant to the RN would be where Id start. *I dont care if they were swamped with procedures that shouldve been communicated AND other staff should be able to schedule. Having one office staff who assists with the procedures who only works two days a week and is the only one that can schedule these procedures is absolutely asinine.

By far the WORST health care facility I have ever been to. I am not one to complain, but my experience was horrible. First I walk in and go to check in and the front desk staff were extremely rude and demanding with instructions. Then I have to wait almost an hour to see the doctor with an appointment. I finally go back to see the doctor and he is even worse than the front desk staff. I try to explain what symptoms I was having but he did not listen and all he did was cut me off and tell me that my symptoms were vague and insist there is nothing wrong with me. The doctor left to do paperwork or something and I could hear him talking to the nurses through the door saying "she just needs to pay her co-pay and leave." And they all laugh. I could not even do anything because I was so sick, so I just go home. After a few months I gain the courage to go to another doctor at Novant Heath. They were so kind and listened to everything I had to say. We did trials of elimination (for my stomach problems) and eventually I had an endoscopy/colonoscopy also with Novant Health. After almost over a year of being sick, I finally have answers. Found out that the pain and nausea I was having was from a hiatal hernia (rare because Im 23 and female). And I also had C-Diff bacteria in my intestines that if not treated can be DEADLY. I am now on medication ans antibiotics and feel so much better. I am so thankful I found Novant Health and was taken care of. No thanks to Cabarrus Family Medicine in Harrisburg! Even if I was on my deathbed, I would NEVER go back to any CMC. Save yourself and go to Novant Health!!!!!!

I have been a patient at this practice since moving to Harrisburg in 2008. I initially chose them because they were so conveniently located. I have stayed with them because they have given me excellent care. The doctors have always been very friendly and informative. While, in the 8 years that they have been my doctors, I have had little need for more than an annual check-up and preventive screenings, I do feel that on one occasion they saved my life. I had an allergic reaction to a still unknown substance. I drove my self to the office with a sudden onset rash, and could feel my lungs filling with congestion. They took me immediately to a treatment room and began to work on me. At one point I remember feeling like I could float away to the ceiling. They did not let me float away. They stabilized me got me into an ambulance and sped me away to NEMC. I still do not know what caused my reaction as allergy tests have pinpointed nothing, but I do know that I have and will continue to trust my life and well being to this practice.

Do not go here if you have other options. The temps they have working at the front desk have no clue whats going on...and if they are not temps then god help anyone who has to go here to get treated. It took 10 min of back and forth between the old rude lady and the other girl before they figured out which doctors were working. Then they said they dont have apts for tomorrow and I had to take the one today...that didnt work my other kid would be getting off the bus when they wanted me there. They wouldnt let me go to urgent care since they "had" an apt for me. What a waste of space and im very sad to see they are associated with CMS since I normally get very good service there. Im going to call urgent care and see if I can come back and just pay out of pocket, it would be worth it to me to never have to see the hags that work in that building again.

The good part is- I got the appointment when I needed BUT with Physician Asst not the actual Doctor which is fine and wait time was also not much in my case hence 2 stars. The not so good part is- Although the meds she prescribed me helped me to recover from the illness but not fully and my symptoms started coming back because she only gave me medicins for 5 days but on the other hand she said this illness might last 10-14 days. The worst part is- I called after 6-7 days and requested to talk to the Doctor I have seen before she could order the refill but noone called me back but they just ordered the refill which I came to know from the pharmacy itself. I just wanted to talk to the Doc first before I could continue the course.

I brought my son in for testing for a coinfection to Lyme disease and Dr. Foster was hesitant to even do routine blood work. After being told to arrive 20 minutes before my appointment and waiting another hour and half for the half ass doctor to tell us that the marks are just stretch marks and dont worry. Now mind you that before I brought my son in I did my homework into this infection. This place is falling apart. My son and myself have been with this doctors office for the past 13 years. Not only myself but my fiencee has decided to seek a new doctor when he came in last month sick and they gave him mouth wash. They need new doctors who know what they are doing.
