Doctor Who

Sadly, this is another doctors office I am going to have to pass on. My hopes were high when I started as a patient but rushed appointment times, poor patient service, and lack of quality care are too much for me. For example, when Im told that my prescription won;t be filled because they "dont do prior authorization forms" anymore (and Im not told this until a week after playing phone tag with staff) , then I have to seriously question where their priorities lie...not with me. I dont want to be penalized for the issues they are having with insurance companies. Perhaps they should work on better time management if they cant handle all their patients insurance forms. I was also insulted that my chart was not reviewed before deciding to ignore my plee for a refill, because if they had read it they would have understood my need for that particular med. However, even after explaining in detail, I was treated with a lack of concern. If I am being made to feel that I am bothering you because I need my medication then I simply dont need to be a patient at your office. I have since transfered to the Priority Care Center and can;t say enough about my experience so far......I actually feel like a person not an insurance check.

Had to switch to new doctor because my previous doctor moved on. Went to Eureka Family Practice and was placed with Dr Korenstein. My first visit was with his Nurse Practicianer, who was very nice and professional. Had a follow up appt with Dr. Korenstein to meet and go over bloodwork. From the minute he walked in the door, it was a downhill slope. He barely introduced himself when he started diagnosing my asthma. He never got to know my history or me. He just was giving a blanket treatment. I wasnt even there for my asthma. He told me I needed to be on a medication that I was on in the past which didnt work for me, but he continued to push the issue. He was condescending, insulting and very unprofessional. His tact and manner were deplorable, let alone his blanket approach to medicine without getting to know the patient. He walked out on me because I didnt agree with him and had the gaul to ask me why I even came to the doctor. Upon reporting this to the Practice Supervisor, I was abruptly dropped as a patient. So not only would I never recommend Dr. Korenstein as a physician, I recommend everyone stay away from Eureka Family Practice. Just another blemish on medicine in Humboldt County.

I miss Dr Holst! I had to move away a few months ago and he is by far the best doctor I have ever had in my lifetime. He takes the time to speak with you and it feels like you are talking to a friend (kiddo). Their webview system makes it super easy to talk to him, and he responds quickly. I have never found the staff to be rude, sometimes they are busy and rushed, but never overtly cold. Just recently I had to change over my prescriptions (new employer) and the new company was able to get the approval from Dr Holst super quickly and have already sent my new prescriptions all within a day (less than a day really). Even though Im 6+ hours away now and with a new employer, Dr Holst still is supporting me and my healthcare. I havent found a new doctor where I am yet, and I dont think anyone will be able to fill his shoes.

The staff are always pleasant and the wait time to be seen is minimal. My PA, Robin Fraser, is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to talk with her patients to best help them with their various health concerns. I would never go any where else. Ive been with them for more than 6 years and have no complaints.!!!

I have been going to Eureka Family Practice for 13 years, and have had only good experiences there. I see Dr. Holst, and love his thoroughness, and his willingness to listen to me. I have also had good experiences with several of the other providers there as well.

I have been a patient here for over 25 years. I couldnt ask for a better GP than Dr Holst. He cares and it shows! The staff is professional and kind and I wouldnt go anywhere else.

EFP doesnt seem to even care about patients any longer. They are even getting in the way of my managing my own healthcare. I cant recommend EFP to anyone I care about.
