Maybe I went here on a very "off" day, but this was not a great experience. I arrived at 7:47am for my scheduled 8:00 appt to a very sour-faced, unfriendly front desk person who barked orders and yelled names like we were serving detention. I signed in on a long list of names that had no indication whether someone had a scheduled appt or not. I was abruptly told to fill out a piece of paper and sit down to be called. This was at 7:50am. Names were yelled out in the order of that list, with long periods in between. I realized I better alert my boss I was going to be late to work. The sour lady finally yelled my name at 8:35am only to just want that piece of paper and my insurance card. Back down I sat. My name was yelled again at 8:40am to go back and have my blood drawn. FINALLY. Having been to other labs that are much better organized and well staffed, I was surprised to find there was only one phlebotomist. I had to sit and wait another 5 min until she finished up with the previous patient. Thankfully the phlebotomist was friendly and did a good job. But at no time did she or the sour lady up front apologize for how far behind schedule they were. Maybe thats just status quo at this lab. But from what Im hearing from colleagues, that seems to be the status quo at all Quest labs. Come on Quest, patients with scheduled appointments should not be waiting 45min until their blood actually gets drawn. Obviously something is not working and needs to be improved.

I went to new physician since my prior one went to work at Blue Cross. New doctor sent to Quest for lab work. I selected to Prairie City Folsom location since it had rating of 4.3 while the others in my area were rated in the 2s. Not a great experience. I arrived at 7:47am for my 8:00 appt thinking I might get in earlier since only prior scheduled appts were for 7:00 and 7:30. WRONG. Signed in and was given basic info (primarily just name and contact info). Had to wait an hour before I was called for testing. I assume they were taking the drop ins and those with appointments soley on time of arrival rather than taking drop ins when time opened up. Sort of defeats the purpose of having an appointment. Either that are they do not know how to schedule, since they were so far behind for an appt scheduled only an hour after opening. Glad my appt was bot at 11:00. Phlebotomist tried to get blood from right arm. After inserting needle, tired to reposition the angle of needle 3 times getting only minimal blood. Was able to draw blood from left arm on first try. Was friendly but not very efficient.

Having blood drawn is one of my least favorite things to do - until now! The two ladies in this office are two of the funniest and nicest people I have ever encountered in a medical office.

The two ladies in the front were very nice and had a great sense of humor. I was in and out quickly with no fuss and had a good laugh or two at the same time.

It is true that these two women make blood-draws fun! I have been going here for a few years now and cant imagine going anywhere else! Keep up the good work!
