I had a rather traumatic accident...I was netti potting my sinuses with a ceramic neti pot when there was a loud boom.. (Plumbers were using a bomb to unplug a drain of neighbor.. It jolted my whole bathroom.. dropping the neti shattering and slicing open a finger. After trying to bandage it and it not clotting I went stressed to LB Community Hospital.. dripping quite a bit of blood... also nervous because Im a pianist.. The admitting nurse was nice and noticing I was having a bit of panic got me in with a nurse as soon as she could.. The male nurse was very nice, helpful took vitals checked out.. I needed a tetnus shot, and xray of finger to be sure there was no ceramic left.. The male nurse Robert was very kind and doing his best to keep my mind off the blood, as well as seeing to several other patients in the room. The doctor was very nice and it looked like I might need 4 stitches.. Im squirmish of pain and needles.. But a las due to the long wait and holding the wound it did press and match up so the doc could glue it shut. The doctor and staff were all friendly and doing their best with several patients .. one with severe strep to feel calm. I felt blessed to having caring doctors and staff. I didnt feel like just a number.. there was of course a lot of paper work.insurance etc.. But they did it in a way that was compassionate .. It could have been a lot worse.. ER can be traumatic for many, and the waiting room felt peaceful, nurses were seeing that people were relatively comfortable getting water etc. I felt overall it was superbly run. Dr. Gregory Rush was very thorough, helpful, as was his staff. I also noticed the nurses sanitizing beds, changing towels and sheets and seeing that any possibly contagious patient were isolated. I appreciate how difficult it must be to keep on top of things.. and this Er ran efficiently. I also felt calmer not having to drive a longer distance to LB Memorial, .. I was able to get to the ER in only 5 minutes and get home easy. The smaller hospital doesnt feel as overwhelming.. I knew where to go, things were marked, parking relatively easy. And the hospital felt serene and more pleasant then many cold sterile ER. I felt the presence of God working through these people. It was comforting in a time of stress. Thank You Dr. Rush and staff!

The staff were at least kind, besides the guards. I was lucky enough to come when there werent many people in the waiting room. But once I was in a room they nearly forgot about me. Took about an hour for someone to bring me a hot tub of water for my foot which was in searing pain from a sting ray. Now Im being contacted by a collection agency because Memorial Health Care Systems failed to notify me of bills. If you send me mail stating "No Bill Enclosed" asking for a review, your mail will end up in recycling. So what a surprise, you eventually send me bills and I never find them. Then you never try and call, but rather just hand me over to a collection agency? Well here is the review you asked for.

Horrible horrible horrible. Long wait, even though there were hardly any patients, relatively clueless employees and rude service afterwards IF i could i would put Worst place ever. my husband went there because they lied to him and told him they were urgent care not an ER. 3 hours later they gave him a zpak. he asked for a Doctors note for work they told him he would have to wait another 1 hour to get that. so of course he left. I called the next day they told me they would have on ready for me we went in there NO NOTE then told me that they do not right notes for missing work and that he would have to call is Doctor to get that or go back to Urgent Care. I HATE THIS PLACE AND WILL NEVER GO THERE>

so I went in due too sharp pain and numbness in my arm. I waited for about 15 minutes before a man named raymond called me into triage. he asked me a few questions about my symptoms and then he immediately got rude with me when I shared my concerns. he then exclaimed how my symptoms dont seem severe. I asked him how can he tell without examining me.He then proceeded to say he could tell by looking at me. Then he snapped back saying ;if you are going to insult my intelligence then I will not admit & He stormed out of the little room and left me sitting there in pain. He was way out of line and I feel mistreated. just beware of a nurse named Raymond in blue scrubs!!

Stay out of that den of insanity....starting with the "guards" who are completely disrespectful to the Administrator of the facility who cares not what is going on with those in "authority". I was barred from my fathers bedside after I had delivered him to the ER because a spiteful relative told them to not allow my entrance. This was after they accepted my signature on all documents they presented to me upon his admittance. Only after I left and returned with legal paperwork was I admitted back to my fathers bedside. They never provided me the name of the hospital employee who refused to admit me no matter who I contacted. The nuts are running the asylum!!!

I came in to be seen at 5:40 pm it is now 8:00 pm and I am still waiting to be seen by a doctor. This place may as well be a county hospital, I see why so many ppl drop dead rather than go to get seen. No one wants to be sick and then sit in a waiting room filled with sick ppl and some sit and use profanity I left the last time I came here without being seen for same reason. I would rather be sick but I got to be at work so I have to find out what the problem isor if I have something contagious so as to not pass it on tosomeone else. Ridiculous I tell ya what is the point. This used to be one of the best hospitals in Long Beach not any more

I Absolutely Love this place!! they took care of me when I was sick with shortness of breath and everyone was wonderful.. I also came there with my mom after she had been in pain for months and they found out what was wrong with her they called her surgeon multiple times until he answered and got her bumped up to get her surgery done faster. they also took great care of my grandmother when she came in for the flu. absolutely love this place!! the waiting room might be a little long but its an ER so its expected.. love this place.

I was brought unconscious to the emergency department by ambulance with a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. I was rushed to the CT scan and then the operating room where the surgeon they had called was waiting. I had a less than 2% chance of living. They replaced a major portion of my aorta with a Dacron prosthesis. Everyone was very kind and efficient. I dont want to repeat that experience, but if it was necessary I wouldnt hesitate! That was in 2005 and I have enjoyed my life since. I have deep gratitude.
