A few years ago, my daughter had an appointment. She was feeling ill that day and her regular doctor was not present. But there was another doctor in the office. As my daughter and I got to a patient room. We waited for fifteen minutes, the doctor finally arrived. He was an Asian man, average height (5"6-5"8), and dark skinned. He talked to my daughter unusually how an adult should talk to a child. I was suspecting he was a pedophile because he was asking if my daughter have a boyfriend, if she had done sexual actions with someone, etc. I was so upset. As a parent, I would not want anyone to go through that especially a child. She was a very innocent 11 year old that time. After a few questions, he asked my daughter to lay down on the patient bed and checked if she had pain on lower abdomen. But my daughter had no pain there neither asked her first if she had any pain in that area. So, why would you just continue checking there. I noticed he started to move his hands lower and quickly my daughter had moved away. She looked uncomfortable and I am very disappointed that I met that doctor and that my daughter had to go through something like that. I could not believe the way that doctor acted around my daughter. A doctor should be professional. A month ago, my mother had a doctors appointment at 8:30a.m. she was in the clinic at 7:10a.m. Apparently, the clinics door was left unlocked but there were no nurses in the clinic but three patients already waiting. About fifteen minutes later, one nurse finally had arrived and was surprised that there were patients already in the clinic. Many waited in the lobby and a few more nurses had arrived. The doctor had arrived around 9a.m. The clinic was so full and others had to wait outside or make-up another appointment. The nurses were having a conversation talking about love life, marriage, high school past relationships, etc. My mother was finally checked up at 11a.m. before she was done, she had asked the doctor for a medicine and to have it re-filled at a near drugstore. For four days, there was no doctor recommended medicine at her drugstore for her. My mother called the office of where she had her appointment but they would always hang up on her saying that they are currently doing something. They couldnt even hear my mother say, "hello" yet. My mother decided to call me and ask me to call the office when I am free. After half an hour, I called the office and a female nurse had picked up the phone and said, "hello" and I was going to reply till she hung up.

Misdiagnosed, unnecessary surgical procedures, refusal of second opinion (I was told that if I wanted a second opinion, I could discharge myself against medical advice and get one elsewhere!), refusal to change attending that I had filed complaints with the State Medical Board against for failing to adequately treat on an outpatient basis, "forgetting" to remove NPO (nothing by mouth) orders to allow me to actually eat (I ate ONE meal in 4.5 days; nurses kept forgetting to remove the order, then I would be put back on NPO without being told about it, and would happen again the next day), and refusal to perform a reasonable test before resorting to surgical procedures. In fact, had they performed the "reasonable test" (a pulmonary function test, or a chest CT), the surgical procedure would likely have been unnecessary. I have never had such a horrible, terrifying experience, and have never felt so uncomfortable in a hospital. I felt as if they believed they were some elite institution doing me a favor I would otherwise not be entitled to in providing me medical treatment. If you value your life, and sanity, I would avoid this hospital at every last cost possible. There are two much better hospitals (both are actually part of the same system) in the immediate area -- Community and Memorial Hospitals (both part of Memorial HealthCare).

They have very rude nurses. Ok I went to the emergency room because I had broke my toenail and it was bent back, I was in so much pain, And once I got there they injected my finger to numb it, because they were going to disinfect my toe. So 10 minutes later comes the rudest nurse or the doctor i honesty did not know who the hell she was, she came to see my toe and to clean it, even though they had numb my toe i could still Feel the pain, So she tells me that she was going to unbend my broken nail, I told her seriously that is going to hurt even worse.? And she responded with a I know its going to hurt, but you are here for me to help So Do you want me to unbend your nail yes or no? because I have other patients to go see, and I obviously said no. So she got out of the room angry with out saying a word, she did not give me a bandaid or anything for my toe so I asked one of the nurses for a bandaid because I did not want my toe to get infected and She said Are you sure you want a bandaid because you dont even want us to touch it, I just replied saying, yes , I will put it on by myself she said it ok, I honestly had a lot of pain to be arguing with them. So I headed to the emergency room at memorial even though they take a little longer they are more polite and treated me very well I will never go back to St. Marys.

Going to the emergency room there is a big hassle . Most the er staff treat people as if theyre all there trying to get pills for some kind of habit. This place is also known for working with the police and acceoting in whoever theyve beaten up at night , theyll treat them and then release them onto the street w/no bill or paperwork descrining what care they provided. Tell me when the last time you were seen by a doctor in a hospital without recieving a bill? Doesnt happen right? Well if the cops drop you off after messing you up theyll treat you and you wont get a bill.proves theres aevident level of cooperation between some of the nightime er staff and the police officers who make a habbit of roughing up whatever local they find suitable for violating. This all needs to be investigated. What happened to the "do no harm" ethic care providers are supposed to stand behind. Clearly that depends on several factors when it should be across the board instead. Try community or memorial better. They also dont recognize marriage or life partners in the gay community . So expect a fair anount of disrespect if in fact you are part of that group of people.

I had one of the worst experiences of my life at this place. I came to Emergency 3 days ago suffering from an allergic reaction to some food Id eaten the night before and was totally ignored.I came in about 5 am and there was only 1 person in front of me and as soon as they looked at me the ladies at the front desk said have a seat. I was having a hard time breathing and was trying to let them know this and instead of listening to me she looked me right in my eyes and walked to the back of the office and never said another word to me. I had to ask the other patient that was in front of me where was another hospital and he directed me to Long Beach Memorial Hospital who took me in right away. Im not sure why I was treated this way but I personally will never go back and recommend anyone else to go L.B.M.H Instead! Sincerely Joel Childress
