I was a former patient of Dr. Kornfeld between 2003-2004 and am lucky to be alive! When I initially consulted with him, I was on low doses of pain meds. Over the course of several months, he increased my pain meds with a toxic cocktail of opiates, as my organs were shutting down, and I was on a death spiral. The following are daily doses of his lethal combination: Methadone 300 mg, Bupenorphrine 150 mg, Benzodiazepines, 150 mg, Dilaudid and Fentanyl. My sister, a physicians assistant, worked for a board certified, Stanford trained anesthesiologist specializing in pain management. She reviewed the list of the meds and thought there was a typo! Within hours, she contacted several rehab institutions, including Betty Ford and Scripps. They stated the maximum amount of methadone for detoxing a patient was 30 mg per day. I was on 10 times that amount, 300 mg of methadone! As my organs were shutting down, my sister realized the urgency of my condition and feverishly sought other solutions. She learned "URD", ultra rapid detox, was my only option.The URD facility stated, I was on the highest dose of opiates, etc. (based on body weight) theyd treated and the effects caused by these lethal doses could result in death during detox. Post detox, I met several Kornfeld patients who shared similar horror stories. Im lucky to be alive and am sharing my experience with Dr. Kornfeld to spare others from the pain, suffering and complications that were iatrogenically imposed upon me.

I have had a lot of trouble in my life caused by chronic pain. I had been to multiple doctors, hospitals and pain clinics and no one could help me. About two and a half years ago I was in such agony I could no longer work and I was such a bummer to be around my friends and family left me. I would wake up at night crying from the pain and could no longer function. I went to Dr. Kornfelds clinic and he changed my life! He and his nurse Ina put me on the right medication and I was out of pain for the first time in years. I started working a few weeks later and it has been great ever since. I am now living my life instead of just existing. Dr. Kornfeld and his nurse Ina are miracle workers!

First and foremost , the world lost a brilliant musician , Prince !! It sickens me that people are so judgmental and automatically jump on a review site to tarnish someones reputation !! None of us knows what happened to cause Prince to pass away , the world is still waiting on toxicology reports ! Yes , Dr.Kornfeld was contacted by Princes team to help the singer with his chronic hip, back and knee pain and the possible addiction to pain meds ! Its a terrible tragedy for everyone involved ! Wait until you hear the final outcome before you speak out and possibly ruin someones livliehood !! Todays society is a bunch of whiny , judgmental assholes !!

He effectively killed Prince. I wouldnt be reviewing him here if I didnt have a personal experience with this doctor many years ago. Dr. Kornfelds handling of this case, sending his son to do his bidding (a non-medical professional) was gross mis-handling of a medical crisis.

My opinion? I believe Dr Kornfeld is a drug pusher who is getting rich from getting patients addicted to hard drugs. He got my mother addicted to Methadone.
