BE CAREFUL & THOROUGHLY CHECK WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU FOR! Firstly I left my treatment halfway as I was not satisfied. I already had made timely payments and had only one visit left unpaid. So I asked them to send me my bill for final settlement. To my surprise, the bill showed that my balance was around 550$ which is impossible for only one unpaid visit. When I cross checked it with the statement of claims with my insurance provider, I got to know that I had to pay only 79$ per visit whereas the center had charged me 154$ for few of my visits. The staff was friendly only until I questioned them for those extra charges they applied to me. They did acknowledge it and sent me the revised bill and offered me only 11$ discount for a mistake of 450$ extra charge. Few words from the biller Bernie Williss email to me - obviously mistakes do happen extend 10% discount, not in admission of an error, but because you expressed the hardship of balance - I never expressed hardship in paying my balance whereas I always maintained I will pay what I owe. Thats why I asked the bill on my own at first place. I only asked if they could talk to the owner to offer more discount as a courtesy for their mistake. I feel you are attempting to use as a threat - this is what she says when I tell her that I will report this incident to my insurance provider so that this never happens again with other patients. Such unapologetic tone is not what I had expected post her messing up my bill. I also asked her to send me the contact details of the owner. She did not send them saying that she has been asked to handle it. I did not ask her not to handle the situation. I just wanted to talk to the owner to express my disappointment and make sure he knows what has happened. Finally, I called in the next day to the center to talk to the owner. I asked for explanation regarding my very first visit for which they charged me for initial physical evaluation plus the regular treatment cost whereas no massaging, exercise or icing was done as my other regular visits. The explanation was that the therapist asking questions involves time and considered a treatment which is why they charged more for first visit. He was the only one who wasnt rude unlike his staff and apologized. Well theres nothing more one can do about it but atleast I hope my experience will help others in some way. Please DOUBLE CHECK THOROUGHLY what they bill you for.

I recently saw Alicia Swan for pain that started towards the end of my third pregnancy. I asked around and was told that she was THE therapist to see for pregnancy and post partum related pain. I thought I was just having sciatic pain, but after I delivered my son, the pain did not subside. I ended up going in for my first appt when my son was only 5 days old, and he came too! The office, and Alicia, was super accommodating and did not bat an eye at my bringing him with me to the appt. My second appt, he even cried for the majority of it while i was being treated, and no one seemed to mind. In fact, other therapists came over to see if they could do anything for him (they couldnt, he was hungry and I was the only one who could help with that!). I was told that my sacrum has rotated and was affecting the nerves on my left side. Alicia got right to work on me, and I felt some relief after that first appt. I continued to see her 2-3 times a week for a couple of months until the pain had completely subsided. I could barely walk when I first came to her, I couldnt climb stairs, and I was having a very hard time caring for my son (and my two older daughters). She worked on getting me realigned, gave me exercises and stretches to do at home, and had me much more mobile in the first few visits. I continued to see her after I started exercising a bit, and kept slipping out of alignment. I was always very confident that she knew what she was doing and always left feeling better than when Id arrived. She is also very pleasant to chat with and made the appts fly by. I actually looked forward to going to see her. The other therapists and assistants all seemed very nice and knowledgeable as well. And the front office staff (Tracy) was easy to deal with and accommodating whenever I needed to schedule or reschedule appts. I would definitely refer anyone in need of PT here, and especially anyone with pregnancy related issues, see Alicia!

I am normally not the type of person to take the time to write a patient testimonial, but in this case I am making an exception. This week is somewhat bitter sweet for me in that I will have exhausted my insurance reimbursement for physical therapy at Newbury Park Physical Therapy. I have been extremely blessed in more ways than most to have been able to continue for as long as I have, but it is going to be difficult not to have my car automatically drive itself over into the parking on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have been seeing Alicia since August of 2013, after my involvement in an auto accident in July and then again in December. Thats somewhere in the neighborhood of about 350 days worth of manual therapy, ultrasounds, e-stim, ice and heat packs with a few kineseo-tape jobs thrown in. Alicia has gently tweaked and maneuvered every broken rib, lower back disks, cervical disks, jaw, shoulder, knee, elbow and a couple of hands thrown in for good measure, back into place. When I was without transportation to and from my appointments, she often offered and at times provided it. If I had a ride she would waited with me often times way after the clinics closing time until my ride arrived. Alicia offered me encouragement when I had none, expert advice when I needed it, a jumpstart to put things back in perspective, laughter when things were not funny and a shoulder to cry on when there were tears. It is thanks to her, Carol, Denis, Bernie, Artie, Tim and Miguel that I am walking out of NPPT, reluctantly, but without a cane or walker in an upright position on my own. Thanks to all of you for your dedication and on going support. I hope you know and can appreciate how grateful I am to have my life back again thanks to all of your efforts. Alicia, you are the Best Of The Best. Thank you my friend. LOL, D.

Newbury Park Physical Therapy...WOW. This place is the best. Facility is great. Staff is professional and really knows their stuff. I went in for hip pain. My initial evaluation was with Alicia Swan. And I am so glad that it was with her. She took one look at me, could see that I was "off," and knew that the hip pain was just the symptom. During evaluation and treatment she was able to get to the root of the problem and determine that I had pelvic instability. As the sessions went by, Alicia not only provided the treatment that I needed, but was constantly reevaluating me, asking me questions, and providing me with the education, the knowledge, and the tools (i.e. exercises) that I needed to help get me stable again. During my time there, I learned how everything is connected and if one body part is off, it can affect others (e.g. pelvic instability connected to lumbar back region? Would have never come up with that on my own). I am now much more aware of how my own body works, what activities can trigger pelvic instability, and what exercises I can do to treat it. Thank you Alicia Swan, for not only providing the treatment that I needed, but for empowering me by giving me the knowledge and tools that I need to take better care of myself. You are the best!
