I brought my cat in twice (13 days apart) for his third eyelids not receding and general fatigue. I brought him in, told the vet I thought he had an infection, possibly an upper respiratory infection. I asked for Erythromycin. The vet told me he doesnt have an infection, and those arent his third eyelids, theyre his uvea (Spolier Alert: they were his third eyelids). After a number of treatments and two visits- totaling $460 (and that was after refusing some of their useless recommendations, or it wouldve been closer to $600). My poor little guy was only getting worse. I spoke with the vet again on the phone, and revisited the idea that it was an upper respiratory infection and he might just need Erythromycin. She said it wasnt and he had to go to a very expensive eye specialist. I simply took him to another vet, who believed me when I said it was an upper respiratory infection, confirmed it was his third eyelids (NOT his uvea) that werent receding, and she prescribed Erythromycin. He is now all better. The second vet cost $190. The original $460 I spent at Sun Valley, plus the time and aguish my cat and I spent, was a waste. I had to repeatedly hound the staff to get anything in writing. They dont like to give diagnoses or treatments in writing. How am I supposed to keep medical records for my cat? For something as simple as an upper respiratory infection, that I diagnosed FOR them, they managed to swindle me for $460 and leave my cat sicker than ever. I called the vet to see if this can be made right, and she offered to refund me $35. Its better than nothing, but I just wish we couldve established more mutual trust so Id feel comfortable bringing my cat back there. The whole experience was a real bummer. :(

Friendly, caring people, skilled care and great customer service. I like cats and they seem to like me. Over the past 30 years Ive adopted several new friends from my neighborhood with checkups and vaccinations as part of that process; we always ended up at Sun Valley Hospital. I really liked the former owner and after a few years of a break without cats I suddenly found myself with two, then a third cute stray kitten. . I was very pleased to find that the new owners are just as nice as the last carrying on a great legacy for this place. Their customer service is first rate with appointment reminders and follow up calls after treatment. Theyre part of our neighborhood so its a short trip for my critters who dont like being crated. The staff is wonderful and Dr. Garg is a treasure. My kitties are strays, mixed breeds, indoor/outdoor cats but they are loved. . These cats adopted me, they are not "owned" and my philosophy of care is to have them neutered, checked and vaccinated to keep the neighborhood and them safe then let them go on about their business of being cats. Theyve all been treated with care and respect and without any lectures about what I "should" be doing to maximize theyre care or attempts to "oversell" services. . I would (and have) recommended this place to friends. This is a great place for anyone wanting quality, caring veterinary care.

I have been taking our pet Banjo here since he was a puppy. He is now 5. SVAH came highly recommended by a neighbor. I am very impressed with the vets and the staff every time I bring Banjo in for a checkup or something semi-serious. The staff is always greeting Banjo with lots of love and petting. We always appreciate them handling this big brute who loves to jump up for some kisses when he comes in. One thing I have always really appreciated is they never try to sell me on anything extra for our dog. They just give him exactly what he needs. Banjo has been here for a tooth extract which was cracked and Sun Valley Animal Hospital took great care of him. They also work well with pet insurance if you have any. Finally there was a change in ownership a while back and was a little nervous about how well the doctors would handle Banjo and anything with his health. Well when I took Banjo in and met with Dr. Nidhi Garg for the first time, she was so on hands with Banjo, he absolutely loved her. She had some really great advice and was not afraid of touching and interacting with Banjo at all. I love the fact that she got down on the floor with him too. The visit put me right at ease. Thank you so much for everything that you do Sun Valley Animal Hospital and for taking great care of our furbaby Banjo!! Keep up the good work!!

My first time experience here was not great. I just moved not too long ago and they are the closest to me so I thought Id try this place out. The lady that helped me was super nice and friendly. Then another lady comes out from the back that looks like she works with the lady in the front. This lady Is a lot more heavy set and she looked at me and snarled "you dont have a carrying case?" Usually I get mad at rude people or poor customer service, but this... thing scared me. I told her no and she just told me their rules. (I couldnt find my carrying case and the appointment was booked for the very next morning also no one else and their pets were in the lobby) I waited not too long and got my kitty seen. I paid $25.00 for the Vet to listen to my kitties Heart, 20 bucks to keep my kitty there for a few hours while the medication works and I can go bomb the apartment with flea meds. I come back to pick my kitty up and they dont even give me a courtesy box to take my kitty back with me. Most Vet places Ive been to gave me one... EXCEPT this one. they are also cheaper than other Vet places for first timers... However good customer service goes a long way... I guess you get what you pay for..... I would rather pay a little more for a place that has people who are nicer and actually wants to be there.

Amazing vet with wonderful and friendly staff and good prices. All of my pets love it here, even the cats who hate being taken out of the house lol. I have had all types of experiences here from just getting a check up to taking in one of my babies that was seriously injured or sick to unfortunately having to bring in my deceased dog after she was hit by a car. The staff here always try to ensure each of my visits are always handled with the upmost respect, care and love possible. Ensuring that whether Im there for a check up or to cremate my baby, I always leave happy or at least feeling cared for and loved during a difficult time. No matter what I am there for, I always leave with all of my questions answered, my concerns acknowledged and taken care of, and any issue going on is resolved or we have an amazing game plan to tackle the issue head on until its resolved. They will be with you every step of the way, 24/7. They always follow up within a few days of your visit to be sure all is well and going okay. I am so glad I found Sun Valley Animal Hospital and I am thankful for all they have done for my pets and I.
