Channel Islands Veterinary Hospital is absolutely the best veterinary hospital I have ever been too. Dr. Garrolini is a miracle worker. My dog, Wolfie had difficulty walking. His back leg was dragging behind as he walked and he could not stand without the leg shaking. Wolfie was in pain. Other vets diagnosed Wolfie with a spine problem. For years Wolfie was taking pain medicine and was suffering. I took Wolfie to Dr. Garrolini. Every part of Wolfie’s spine was x-rayed. Dr. Garrolini informed me Wolfie had no spine problem. He went over every x-ray confirming this fact. However, Dr. Garrolini knew Wolfie had a severe problem and did not take the easy out and continue to prescribe pain meds. He continued to x-ray. It turns out Wolfie had a torn ACL and torn meniscus. Dr. Garrolini again showed me the xrays. He carefully explained what could be done for the damage to Wolfie’s knee. Dr. Garrolini took the time and care until I completely understood the injury and treatment. I approved the surgery for Wolfie to have his knee reconstructed. Dr. Garrolini made sure I understood everything about the surgery and everything to expect during the recovery. Dr. Garrolini constantly monitored Wolfie both in the hospital and during his 4 months recovery at home. Dr. Garrolini was available for me 24/7 for questions and concerns. The staff at Channel Islands Veterinary Hospital would call me to check up on Wolfie during recovery. Today Wolfie no longer is in pain… He has full use of his leg/knee and is able to walk pain free. Thanks to Dr. Garrolini my baby is finally able to live an active, normal pain free life. Dr. Garolini has also helped my other dogs and cats including newborn kittens only 3 weeks old. Every pet of mine that he has seen is doing fabulous due to Dr. Garrolini. Dr. Garrolini truly is magnificent!!

The Channel Islands Veterinary Hospital is a dangerous and corrupt business that puts all animals brought there in direct harm. They are negligent with the care of animals left over night, give false/wrong diagnoses that can end up in the death of an animal, and put profit above any concern for the actual health needs of an animal. A week after taking my 18 year old cat, Flashlight, for a check up he ended up dead in their overnight hospital. A very healthy cat with no previous health issues, without regard to his advanced age or pre-screening for any internal conditions, Dr. Christine Holter gave Flashlight a rabies vaccine. A week later when I brought him in sick, she immediately made me sign off to $1000+ of dollars to admit Flashlight into the hospital, claiming he had kidney disease, and called me a day later to announce his death. The last day I visited him, his fur was a mess, the nurse hurt him by pulling the IV too fast and when I asked if he really would be better the next day I was given 100% assurance. Too late of course to ever get Flashlight back -- but not too late to save other patients! After research online I have found that other customers have made similar complaints (check the filtered yelp reviews). When I called to express my concern and my intent to pursue this matter legally, I was told that cats no matter what age or under what health are REQUIRED by CA law to get rabies shots. This is FALSE. These people only have one thing in mind: money. Not the health and well being of both animals and their loving owners.

I have been bring my dogs to this Vet for around 8 years, The service has been mostly good although the staff changes constantly. Two years ago I called because my english bulldog was swelling up around her face. I called for an emergency appointment and was told to take her to the emergency clinic in the next town because they were to busy. My bulldog was swelling up so fast, that her eyes swilled shut, since there was no way to I could make to the emergency clinic, I made a bee line to the closest vet I could find. By this time her throat was swelling shut and I had to carry her into the office. They immediately went to work on her, and told me another 15 minute and she could have died. Today, I called to make an appointment to in bring in my Boston Terrier, she is very old and over the last couple of days has gone down hill to the point that today she can no longer walk. I know its close to her time so I wanted to bring her to the vet that has been treating her for years. They told me "Sorry but were booked today, and off tomorrow and booked monday too. The soonest they could see her is Tuesday, we suggested I take her to the Emergency Clinic." Well, I know shes suffering, so I guess I will have to bring her a strange Vet. Its sad when the vet thats been seeing your pet for years and always seemed so concerned, really isnt. I will be looking for another vet for my pets.

I absolutely hate this place!! Last year my miniature pincher was hit by a car. We took her to Channel Island Vetianary Hospital. They gave us a price that we could not afford, all at once due to the fact, I was unemployed at the time. We asked for payment arrangements and we were shut down. Sad to say they dont care about saving animals lives, they only care about MONEY. My family member did not have to die, and yes she was family. Guess Vets dont care about saving animals unless you have cash. Needless to say now that Im back on my feet again I will never ever take my dog or cat back to them, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone!!!

I just want to thank you for the wonderful treatment you gave Yani. She is so tiny and frail we were terribly concerned that she would never be healthy and active. You took great care of her and she is like a new dog. She wasn’t barking for a long time, and her energy was very low. Since her surgery she is running again and has her personality back. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done and the great service from doctor & staff.

Very nice and competent animal hospital. A little pricey but that may be normal. They found our cat through his microchip after he was gone for 10 months. Very grateful.
