I fostered a dog, Jack Russell, and called around to see who give free exam to rescues. He was going to be put down because he was 8 years old and his owners didnt want him anymore. Dr. Moore said she would waive the exam fee. The rescue dog had to have some shots so the rescued paid for it. After the visit and after the dog exam, Dr. Moores office sent the rescue two faxes: first with the exam fee waived because he is a rescue, second with the $47 exam fee included. I called and questioned the office staff about it. I asked why they would say the fee would be waived and then charge for it. There was a vet in Moorpark who waives these fees all the time with this rescue, but since I live in downtown Ventura, I insisted that I stay local. I truly regret that now because it would not cost $47 to drive to Moorpark. I think what Dr. Moore did was ethically wrong. If you are going to charge, just say so. The young lady at the front desk admitted that it was her fault, for not asking all the proper questions and such, but since it is her fault, ethically the rescue should not have been charged. I went there in good faith that they would waive that fee and they didnt. In my last conservation with the young lady in the front desk that confirmed the fee would be waived, she said Dr. Moore charged because the dog I was fostering had a $300 medical limit. This is so WRONG! I would not trust her with my own dog and I DO NOT RECOMMEND her to anyone.

Im really surprised by some of the negative comments. As a pet owner its up to me to decided the level of treatment my dogs are given. My vet diagnoses problems and suggests the best possible treatment course of treatment. Its really no different then seeing my own doctor. When Robbie had a growth removed from his face she gave him Valium to keep him relaxed while she worked. When Dexter had a mole cut off his chin, she just gave him a local. In either case she gave the appropriate consideration to how upsetting the procedure would be based on my animals personalities. She never has never done anything without my express approval and understanding of the costs involved. I trust her judgment and expertise completely. She knows my financial situation and always explains the best versus the minimum treatment. She recommended alternative treatments, like Chinese herbs, when she thought we would get a better outcome than traditional medicine, and she was right, plus it saved me a bundle! Ive been to "economical vets" and come home with a dog sicker than he was when we got there. I want the very best for my little guys, and Dr. Moore is the best, and only, vet for us. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

My husband and I love Dr. Moore, she is so helpful and courtious to our feelings. I do not think she is at all more expensive then any other vet in Ventura! She is so great about explaining different types of treatments verses prices. I dont recommend any other vet to go to. I came to her clinic today when someone was picking up there goose that had been attacked by a racoon, they said they called and Dr.Moore and she had them come down right away and did surgery on there goose who had a massive hole on its side, the people said that she was so amazing in what she did they would never go anywhere else and my husband and I feel the same way! And instead of me sitting and waiting the staff called me to change my appointment to a later time because of the surgery. I think that was awesome and I feel she would do the same for my pups if they had an emergency. Moore Vet Care is highly recommended by my family and friends!

I came to Dr. Moore because she was recommended to me by a friend. I came not over a week ago and she told me all the info I needed to know and more about the kitten I had just adopted. She told me what to look out for when it came to my kitten having a temper to him being super loving. (I adopted a siamese kitten) She told me about how old my kitten should be when he starts to lose his baby teeth, to what food is recommended, etc. She did a full exam and wrote up an estimate for me to see what options I had for the future when I decided to neuter him when he is the appropriate age, what vaccines he needed etc. I was informed of the price and recommendations, which were not "added without my knowing" like other reviews say. I was very pleased with Dr. Moore and her staff which were very nice. She will continue to be my kittens vet.

2 Stars might be a little too high... A recent experience has me wondering if I wasnt given the sincerity I had paid for. A couple hundred dollars on the visit and medication and an animal in heaven less than 24 hours later. I know these things happen but I am feeling like she may have known death was around the bend and tried to squeeze some good faith money out of me. Another thing funny is that they keep you there for what seems like days, almost to justify the outrageous premiums you will be paying. Make a diagnosis, give me options and let me check out, I do not need to be there an hour and nobody else should.

We adopted a 14 year old Alaskan husky, retired sled dog that had run in the Iditarod several times. She was having difficulty getting around due to soreness in her shoulders & hips. Dr. Moore has been treating her for several months now with a K-laser. She is like a new dog! Amazing results! Her head is held up high now & she cant wait to go for walks. Dr. Moores treatment has been incredible. I encourage any & all pet owners to take advantage of the wonderful care that Dr. Moore provides. We wouldnt think of entrusting the health of our dogs with anybody else. THANK YOU DR. MOORE!!

I was passing through Ventura late in the day when my dog recut her foot. Not knowing a vet in the area I called the first one I could find and got very lucky to have clicked on Moore Vet. The folks here allowed me to show up 20 minutes before closing, examined my pup and then ran over options for her. Once a course of action was decided they patched her paw up, wrapped it, put the cone of shame on her and we were back on the road in an hour. Very professional, very friendly and very accommodating. Thank you from Casey and Sook.

Dr. Moore has been so wonderful, guiding me and giving me options to best fit my budget and keep my pets at their best. She is not just a vet but a pet owner who knows how it feels to have a sick friend. Pets just like people are not cheap when it comes to medical care, nothing is for free but at least you know you are in experienced and caring hands at all times. You are taught "you get what you pay for" but with Moore Veterinary Care caring for your pet you know you are getting more than you paid for! Alyse
