We recently adopted a chow mix puppy from a rescue. The puppy needed to be neutered so we took him to the vet recommended by the rescue group. When we picked him up from the vet clinic after the operation he was in an incredible amount of pain, and very frightened. Apparently, pain medication after the operation was not a priority for the clinic. I called our regular vet, Dr. Ree at Redwood, who told us to bring our puppy right over. We got to Redwood just in time (ie, just before closing on a Friday night). Dr. Ree examined the pup immediately, ensured that the surgery was done properly, told us about the proper pain management process, prescribed pain killers, AND got down on the floor to calm and soothe the poor pup. She even got him to take a treat. She had us schedule a follow up appointment several days later to make sure the pup was recovering properly. She and her staff continue to take care of both of our dogs; both of whom love the vets and staff.

BEST VET IN THE SOUTH BAY. Came highly-recommended to me by a very well-known, respected, long-time vet in Manhattan Beach, Dr. DeHart (now retired). REDWOOD ANIMAL HOSPITAL always seems to go above and beyond what is required. They always call with important reminders...their front desk is extremely efficient and FRIENDLY. Their office is always CLEAN and it just has a very cute and adorable vibe to it. :) Most importantly, however, is the care my pets have received from the wonderful DR. RAE. She NEVER RUSHES YOU; she is ALWAYS CONCERNED IN A GENUINE WAY; she KNOWS WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT; she is a person who you can tell BONDS WITH ANIMALS INSTANTLY. In my opinion (and I have lived in the South Bay for over 60 years and gone to many different vets), DR. RAE AND REDWOOD ANIMAL HOSPITAL offer extremely high-quality veternarian care and we are extremely LUCKY to have them available to us in the South Bay.

I had a concern over the quality of one of my check-ups. I let them know and they still have not contacted me regarding this issue and it has been more than a month later. Also, Dr. Rea was supposed to call me back regarding a short-term plan to minimize the pain for my dying cat. Again, a month later, I still have not been contacted and we are putting the cat down in a few days. This is highly negligent behavior for someone who is a "medical professional". Horrible communication once you leave the hospital. I do not recommend this animal hospital and will be switching the care for our other pets to a different vet.

Very pleasant staff. Through examination for my Frankie. I brought him in for a lump I found. I was so worried. The doctor reassured me she thought was benign but would check all options. She aspirated it & she was right. She also checked temperature, throat, teeth gums, paws, ears etc. I left feeling he was well taken care of. They made a follow up call to see hows hes doing which made me feel good. Thank you Redwood Animal Hospital so glad your my dogs vet. KA

When Dr. DeHart closed his Manhattan Beach office our file was transferred to Redwood Animal Hospital. We were a bit anxious having not made the decision ourselves, but we Could Not be happier. The staff and doctors are all superior in their knowledge and their level of service. Sophie and Panda are well cared for and there is nowhere else we would trust more!!

We have been going to Redwoods Animal Hospital for over 7 years and cannot say enough about the excellent personal care Ginger (our Weimaraner) receives. Despite being very busy, Dr. Rae takes the time to call us personally as soon as lab results are in and she always fits us in if an emergency arises. Simply put, Redwoods Animal hospital is the best!

I couldnt ask for a better vet! We have a family of three huge dogs and 3 awesome cats. We have found the doctor for us she gives all the information and care we need without nickel and diming. We have been going to see Dr Rae for 2 years and the level of care has always been great.

Dont bring your beloved pet to these people. It is not an animal hospital and should have to change its name. We have been harrassed twice just for trying to have our pet taken care of. Horrible group of people that should change professions.
