It was my first time using The Pet Keeper service. Im with a rescue and we needed a dog to board for 2 nights. I got a call from the veterinarian the next morning. It seems he developes an upper respiratory infection. I asked how much a check up would be and she said she already did it and so it would be another $51. I explained that no one called me and a URI is definitely no emergency. Thankfully, she said shed waive the fee since no one told me. I also found out later that they called my emergency contact BEFORE trying to contact me. Odd. So I asked if I can come pick him up early so he wouldnt have to stay a second night. They said, "Sure, you can get him anytime between 8-4pm today and you wont have to pay for his whole stay." I thought, great! Im going to use this place again! But then I arrived at 11:28am. And the woman at the front desk said if its after 11am, I get charged for a second day. Even though I explained no one told me this, she said she couldnt help. So I said, well I might as well keep him here tonight as planned. Nope. She said if I did, theyd now charge me an extra $45 to put him in isolation and for a Sunday pickup. When I initially called, it was $30 per night for two nights. So I was thinking $60 plus the antibiotics for $17. Nope. I get charged for three days for a drop off on Friday at 4pm and a pickup Sunday at 8am. At $45 a night plus $2 for each pill administration. Basically going from only $60 a night to $150. And he just went to the vet literally before he went to Pet Keeper who gave him the all clear. There is some shady business practices here. Anything they can do to make a dime. If in had been there at 10:50am it wouldve been $45 for the meds and one night stay, instead, because they said he could be picked up anytime that day and I came at 11:28am I was charged $76. Horrible service. They were rude the whole time. I was shocked. Im a rescuer and have been looking for good groomers, vets amd boarding in the area for our many pets and clients. I thought they were it, but now, Im telling everyone to go elsewhere.

We have boarded our dog, Muna, there with Pet Keepers several times, and he has LOVED staying with them every time. I can tell because every time we go back, he greets the caregivers with enthusiasm, wagging his tail, leaning against their legs, and sitting on their feet, his way of expressing affection (not to mention lots of kisses, if they will let him). This enthusiasm extends to the medical care staff as well: recently we had to deal with a persistent bout of abdominal upset probably triggered by stress and a water and diet change from our move from the desert to the South Bay. The staff were very caring with Muna, caring and gentle, reassuring and careful to explain everything to me. The vet, Dr. Moeller, took extra time to sit down with me and discuss all the options for possible diagnoses from best to worst case scenarios, and different testing and treatment strategies. They gave me the information I needed to make informed decisions, and allowed me to make the best decisions I could afford given all the factors in our lives. I am happy to say that thanks to their care, Muna has returned to his normal bouncy good health, and in spite of his advanced age, were looking forward to several more years with our happy, healthy dog!

I dont know what has happened to this place!!! It used to be praised by everyone and recently they seem to be falling apart. I took my new puppy there for first shots and a check up and they tell me that the dog is fine and is in perfect health. I take her to my normal vet and the doctor tells me there were eye problems, hip problems, and potential heart problems. none of which the doctors at plaza del amo thought to check!!! Then i have to get them vaccinated every time i board them when their primary vet has their shots current and up to date. Boarding conditions are terrible and the staff is not responsible for the belongings of the animals. I cant tell you how many time i have come home with half their toys or blankets. (Even though i pay to keep them in the deluxe package room!) THE STAFF IS RUDE AND IGNORANT! They do not know how to handle a situation and all turn to the next person so they dont get a finger pointed at them!!!! Progressively getting worse and i would never take my dogs back!!! FOR ANYTHING!!!!

I have been going to Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital for 10+ years. Have taken all my pets there, and although changes have occurred throughout the years, and Im down to one dog, I still go to Plaza Del Amo. Its easy to get any appointment, the doctors are great, as well as the reception staff. They also have boarding and grooming facilities on-site. Have used both & cant recommend them enough. Junior, their head groomer is the best! I absolutely do not know how he gets my Chorkie to stay still long enough to bathe him & give him his "summer" cut all year long. Very happy this pet haven is so near to my home.

We rescued a puppy and had no idea where to begin. We brought him to Plaza Del Amo and they were so helpful. The vet we met with was in no rush and explained thoroughly what we had in store for us. Being new puppies owners on a budget they really work with you on the best financial decisions and work with the companies for fleas, vaccinations for rebates and coupons. We have also had to leave out of town and we have left Milo at the facility which has turned out awesome. Very affordable and they truly love the animals that stay there and take very good care of them.

If you care for your dogs well being, do not board them here. After a three night stay, we picked up our dog to find her covered in urine and diarrhea and her nose rubbed raw from the kennel gate. She was also wearing her harness, which had been tightened so much that she could barely walk. Not to mention that it took more than 20 minutes for them to simply go get her from her kennel when we picked her up. A combination of negligence and incompetence makes this a nightmarish location to board your pup.

And Ruby is so always happy going to Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital & Pet Keeper. I trust Dr. Dastrup and all of the doctors at Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital to give my dog the best care around. If your pets needs to be treated like royalty this is the place for you.

Taking my young 2 1/2 yr pup Hollywood to Plaza Del Amo Pet Hospital was a very easy, friendly and efficient. The Veterinary team was great and I felt they truly cared for Hollys overall canine health and happiness. I was able to schedule quickly and got all of my pups needs taken care of.
