Regardless how good the physician, the face of the practice is the staff. Unfortunately either Dr Nguyen doesnt know or doesnt care how poorly her staff represents her. 1. Staff claimed the practice does not accept SCAN Medicare plans - until a representative of SCAN kindly called to insist that Dr Nguyen is indeed a SCAN provider. 2. Staff does not accept phone calls and only with patience and persistence can you figure out how to leave a voicemail. 3. Staff does not listen to voicemails, at least not in a timely way. I left messages on three consecutive days to confirm my appointment, only to get another call asking me to confirm my appointment. 4. They have a fax number. Great! Email-to-fax my appointment confirmation. Three fax attempts, three busy signals. 5. HIPAA security is questionable. While trying to get a human I punched a series of zeroes and accidentally got into the voicemail retrieval system. If I hadnt hung up quickly, I could have listened to several days of unretrieved patient messages. 6. Tipping point: No parking within blocks. No way to ask staff for suggestions. Bailed.

I cant get anyone to answer the phone, and they dont have an answering machine so that I can leave a message. Ive heard nothing but raves about Dr. Nguyen, but the practice/office management does not give a good first impression. Ive been referred by another physician, but have not heard from the practice about setting up an appointment and I have been trying for a week to get someone to answer the phone.

Dr. Nguyen is the best rheumatologist in San Diego... and I have seen 6 rheumatologists in this area. She takes her time, addresses your concerns, follows up and gets you what you need to feel better. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen.

Dr. Nguyen is an amazing physician. She takes personal interest in her patients and is always thorough. When I needed a rheumatologist she was recommended by every physician I asked. There just isnt anyone better.

Hard to get help when no one answers the phone. Ive called twice now and after getting through the unique phone system and leaving messages, nobody seems to care about communications.
