Dr. Gustin and the staff at SF Custom Chiropractic are all awesome. Very professional and knowledgeable, and the office is very spacious and clean. My story: About 2 months ago (mid-March 2014), I injured my foot during a zombie fun run (dont ask) and went to both the ER and a podiatrist. The doctors at CPMC told me I had probably fractured my foot. They put me in a walking cast and sent me on my way with some pain meds and a bill, and told me not to do ANYTHING for 2-3 months. Im a fairly active person so I was pretty bummed to hear that, plus I honestly didnt think my foot was fractured (I was able to finish said zombie run on it). So needless to say, I wanted a second opinion. I was referred to Dr. G by a few people at my gym, and I had already visited his office for shoulder mobility issues. When I went in again, Dr. G examined my foot and rocktaped the area. As it turned out, my foot was only sprained. After a couple more sessions, my foot was noticeably better and I was able to walk without the cast after only 6 weeks, instead of the 8-12 weeks my podiatrist had diagnosed. Ive been to other chiropractors before, but theyve always told me to lay off doing whatever it was I was doing that was causing whatever pain that I was in. I usually avoid even telling them I do crossfit, snowboarding, and other sports. At SF Custom Chiro, I appreciate how Dr. Gustin (whos also an athlete and coach) not only treats my pain and mobility issues, but he also explains why and shows different exercises to help move correctly. I would definitely recommend for anyone in pain or injured, and especially athletes looking to improve mobility issues or for professional treatment without being judged.

Dr. Anthony Gustin changed my life. As a life long athlete who has been injury prone I have racked up my fair share of injuries from playing various sports. I thought I would live out the rest of my life with mild/annoying pain in my knee, back, and ankles. I had seen at least a dozen other chiropractors in my life prior to meeting Dr. Gustin. All of them would tell me to lay off for extended periods of time and to come in once a week for however long to get an adjustment. I got little to no results. Enter, Dr. Gustin. He spent time on a proper analysis of my injuries doing some physical tests and asking some very specific questions. This guy actually cares! Then he came up with a plan to address each issue. Everything sounded reasonable so I decided I would stick with it. He educated me on the injuries and gave me homework/drills to do at home. About 2 months later I started to feel like a normal human being again. I wasnt squirming in pain throughout the night anymore and could feel my body mechanics finally aligning. Bottom line here is if you want to get better then go see Dr. Gustin. If youre in pain, he can help you get better. If you are an athlete, hell tune you for performance. If you are at the top of your game, hell keep you there.

Dr. Gustin has rave reviews, and for good reason. Ill get to that in a minute. First, Id like to give a shout out to all the wonderful ladies who work in his office. They are all fantastic - professional, friendly, and super helpful. You couldnt ask for better service. Just so you know, the women who run the front desk are also the ones who give you a warm-up massage before Dr. Gustin cracks all the kinks out of you. These ladies all have slightly different styles but they are all great. Just ask if you have a spot or level of intensity you want for your massage. Upon checking in, before the massage, you enter all your ailments into a program that tracks your progress over several visits. After the massage, you go see Dr. Gustin. As other people wrote, he sees you as a whole person and besides cracking your back, he offers fitness and nutritional advice. I keep coming back because Dr. Gustin delivers noticeable results on my injuries and long term back pain, he gives me workout moves to do that have dramatically helped me, and he is an ally in my long term health goals. He truly cares about helping his patients.

Ive been under Dr. Alex Browns care for the past four weeks at the Bernal Heights location. This was my first time under chiropractor care and though skeptical, I was desperately in need of lower back pain relief. Ive been put on a progressive treatment that addresses posture, relief, and strength along with weekly adjustments. Dr. Brown is gentle, precise, and his techniques have provided effective alleviation after a few weeks. (This has been a team effort for Ive done everything he has recommended, so if you want results listen and do what the doc says.) What pleases me the most is that he has expressed the ultimate goal is to cure me, not just temporarily relieve my pain, which tells me he has my best interest. Such quality of service is rare and I feel blessed to have been under his care. I totally recommend this practice and Dr. Brown for outstanding personalized service. The office is clean and modern. You have to be a little tech savvy because they are a paperless facility. You register and sign in via a tablet for those of you technically challenged. Dont worry, its easy and theyll teach you.

Dr. G has changed my viewpoint on chiropractors completely. I came in to see Dr. G because I was experiencing some tingling and numbness in my fingers for quite some time. After about 6 months, I thought it might be good to get a professional to assess it instead of me going online and trying to diagnose myself. Since Ive starting coming to see him, the numbness and tingling have subsided and Im continuing my visits for preventive care. Ive learned more about my body and how it works and how it should work since coming to see Dr. G and it has been more than I could have ever expected. If youve ever had bad experiences with chiropractors, then I assure you, Dr. G is your man. Not only will he work with you to get you to where you need to be, hell tell you why and plus, he gives you homework to work on so you can help yourself get better. On top of that, Alex, the massage therapist is amazing. Great office, great staff. I always look forward to my visits.

I have known Dr. Gustin for several years now and know first hand that anyone would be in great hands going in to visit him at SF Custom Chiropractic, for any complaints they may have currently or in the future. I have had the good fortune of having been treated by him in the past, and know as a fellow colleague of his that you wont find a better chiropractor around. He has an extensive knowledge in functional movement and biomechanics as well as providing care of all injuries of neuromuscular nature. Dr. Gustin has advanced training in chiropractic adjusting, soft tissue therapies, and rehabilitation and would be a wonderful asset to anyone in maintaining their overall health and wellness or overcome current injury. I will personally continue to refer to Dr. Gustin and SF Custom Chiropractic knowing that they will receive top notch care from some of the best in the Bay Area.
