Absolutely knowledgeable, competent, comprehensive, charming and accommodating. A perfect balance of professional and personable. I needed an eye exam. But, I was worried. Im new to San Jose. Even though Ive lived in many places, I always went home and saw the same optometrist Ive seen for 42 years. It is hard to match that level of comfort and security. But, she did it. She was able to be totally present with my concerns. She addressed them empathetically and collaboratively. A most excellent problem solver. I have a hard time with progressive lenses. I have struggled for years trying to embrace them. She listened to me go on and on about how I am inside of my body and the way they always feel upside down. And when I was done, she had the simplest most logical solution to the problem. Her prices are reasonable. Her staff thoroughly researched what my insurance covers. Turns out, I was able to afford two pairs of glasses that have all the bells and whistles. I am elated! It feels like I not only get a basic everyday dress.. and it will be immaculately tailored ... plus a ballgown throw in as an extra. Ive never had a frivolous pair of glasses in my life. Well done. Way to make a lady feel fabulous. Just as an added bonus, the patient before me was an elder who had some speech challenges. She and the staff were amazingly patient, caring, and supportive. The assistant even went the extra mile to help him coordinate his transport for the follow up visit. She didnt have to do that. Not in her job description. But, she did it graciously and kindly because it was the right thing to do. She treated the whole person.

I was referred to Dr. Ngo by a friend, but I live closer to Los Gatos than to North San Jose. The recommendation was so good that I made the drive and will now not hesitate in making it again. Dr. Ngo’s staff was excellent in accommodating me and extremely professional upon my arrival. Dr. Ngo was extremely thorough in her exam and answered all of my questions in great detail, but in a way that fully understood issues. I am very selective and in the past, finding the right optometrist has been difficult. But when I found Dr. Ngo, my search ended. I am extremely happy with her practice. North Valley Optometry is clean. The staff is very professional. Dr. Ngo is caring, knowledgeable, and thorough. She is extremely detailed when it comes to my eyes need. I have recommended my friends and family to her and they think she does an excellent job caring for their eyes. Dr. Ngo has taken excellent care of our family for the past 10 years. We faithfully come in for an annual eye exam. Dr. Ngo is very knowledgeable, professional and, at the same time, quite personable. Furthermore, she treats us with the utmost care. Her staff is friendly and helpful. Her office has a wide selection of frames to choose from to fit my budget. Dr. Ngo and her staff consistently not only meet, but exceed, my expectations.

I have been going to Dr. Ngo at North Valley Optometry for 4 years. I have been very happy with the level of care and service. I wear contacts and have had comfort issues and Dr. Ngo has been able to find a brand that works for me. They also try to accommodate your schedule and have good follow-up. Everyone is nice and do not try to push sales in any way. I would highly recommend North Valley Optometry.

Dr. Ngo fine-tuned the prescription in my contact lenses and glasses to get them just right! She also recommended a new brand of contact lenses that are amazingly comfortable! My eyes haven’t felt this good in years. Dr. Ngo took the time to really understand my issues and helped me solve all of my eye problems. I highly recommend North Valley Optometry! going to the eye doctor has always been a "have" to, now with Dr Ngo, its always a pleasure and she always have up to date information on whats going on in her field. She takes her time and let you try out a couple of different solutions and then makes life really easy for you. Service is wonderful and you can always get in on short notice. Im really glad I saw Dr. Ngo. She diagnosed the early stages of cataracts, so now Im protecting my eyes by wearing UV protected glasses and wearing a hat when Im out in the sun to slow down the deterioration. Im really glad that she is excellent at what she does and I saw her when I did. I highly recommend her for your eye needs.

Instead of dreading a boring and unclear exam, I look forward to them. Dr. Ngo, is thorough in the exams and explains things to her patients. She also talks to them, like really talks to them about more than what is required, and gives off a welcoming aura. Her staff is the same way. Heres to many more years of excellence ^^

Ive been seeing Tarryn for the past 10 years. I dont need glasses, thus the reason for only checkups. But when I did complain about a constant headache she prescribed me some computer glasses to help alleviate that problem. Only gave 4 stars cause she has too many 5 stars already and I dont really need glasses.

The location is convenient; the office is nice and well equipped; the selection of frames is huge; the price is right. Our orders came in earlier than expected. Highly recommended!
