I have never written a review before, and I understand not all reviews reflect the company as a whole, but after my experience with this company I cannot avoid expressing my agreement with the negative reviews I have read here and via Yelp. My C-pap machine indicated service needed. I called the company where I purchased it and have always received excellent service, Pulmonary Solutions, they are not a Medicare participant and since I am now a Medicare participant I was "forced" to contact Apria. I read the negative reviews prior to contacting my Doctor, and decided to personally go into the San Leandro office to begin the process. Since my mailing address is Truckee, I was told I had to go through Reno office for service. Before I finished my sentence explaining I am in the Bay Area more often, I was handed a card with the Nevada fax number and told to have my Doctor contact them...Thats it. Did not even receive the respect from the "witch board" operator to even finish my statement or ask any questions. My Doctors office also received the no response treatment and has since changed to another supplier for my machine. Not all reviews reflect accurate details, BUT, good luck to you if you decide to use Apria. I have NO reason to embellish the facts.

How difficult can it be to rent a wheelchair? With Apria Healthcare, you can be assured it will be a goat rodeo of ridiculous. My Kaiser plan didnt cover ambulatory services, so I called Apria to rent one. First, I was told I couldnt rent one because my Kaiser plan didnt cover it - yeah, I just said that. Then I had to wait for a supervisors permission before I could rent one. I asked if I had not told her my back story if shed be able to rent one to me and she replied yes. What I should have done is hung up and called another company. After asking for a driver to contact me prior to delivery, I was never called, and the chair was delivered to the wrong house. He came back 30 minutes later, but the chair they provided was not in working order. So - driver takes the faulty, yet highly necessary leg lift bits and leaves the chair. Today, Im supposed to receive the rest of the wheelchair...but just found out after being passed around to four different operators that they wont be able to get them to me until 6 - 9pm this evening... Fail.

This place is absolutely ridiculous! Its obvious that if the hospitals and Healthcare companies didnt use them they should be out of business! My mother broke 4 ribs so we ordered a hospital bed to help make her as comfortable as possible. They claimed to offer same day service but was not immediately told what time they would arrive so I called back to see what time we could expect delivery and was told between 2:30 PM and 6:30 PM. That time window came and went with no callback. I called for an update and was told between 7:15 PM and 9:30 PM. Mind you we took out the old bed to make space so now my mom is further inconvenienced and uncomfortable! Then to add insult to injury they call back to ask if we really need the bed tonight! Now they say it will be after 10 PM. Now thats its too frickin late to cancel and find another place tonight and all I want is to get my mom comfortable otherwise they could keep the darn thing! NEVER AGAIN!

While plenty of Americans are seeking work, this company off-shores its entire record-keeping and customer contact operations. It took over six months to get the equipment that I needed, mainly because the company did not communicate with me or my doctor for months after receiving the initial order. Finally, after the order was "approved," I was instructed to pick it up in San Leandro. I simply wanted to know what time I should show there. When I called the number they gave me which was supposedly for that office, it was re-routed off-shore instead. The call was answered by someone had no familiarity with local operations. I have been on hold now for over fifteen minutes. I echo the reviews of others. I do not understand why Medicare and the US health care system pays this company for such shoddy performance and poor service.

One of the worse, it is a nightmare to deal with this company , they misunderstand orders , customer service not good , hard to get answers, they give you the round around ... we have been waiting for a wheel chair for a long time, one day they were supposed to do the deliver they didnt show up, I called and after several hours with different operators I was told the requested was cancelled by Kaiser, when I talked to Kaiser I was told they never cancelled our request, then Kaiser called Apria and it was supposed to fix this misunderstanding and they gave us another date of delivery....Apria never showed up,...then they brought the wrong equipment and the delivery guy was rude with the patient got upset I guess and left ,......Apria it is just bad, I hope Kaiser will deal with a different company for their patients sake

The worst. They are the only company who can deliver oxygen so you cant take your business elsewhere--if you could would. It does not matter what time you say someone is home for delivery, and it does not matter what time they say they will deliver. They show up whenever--up to 10:00 at night, and sometimes dont deliver at all. If you arent home, they pile all the oxygen tanks in front of your door so that you cant open it. When they dont deliver, their "protocol" is to tell you that you have to go to one of their offices to pick up your oxygen, drive it home, and unload it. Very tough if you are sick enough to require oxygen. No compassion or understanding of the critical nature of timely delivery for someone who literally CANT BREATHE. Im assuming they have some kind of license to operate, and it shoudl be revoked.

It is impossible to reach a local office. If I call the local number I get the 800 number which gives me the opportunity to listen to 20-30 minutes of terrible music. When this nice person answers they always ask all the demographic questions, listen to my issue, then tell me someone who is qualified to answer my question will call me. Right! I asked them to use my cell number so I will not miss the call. They call on my home number so I get the opportunity to go through the long wait time again. You see, the person who called did not speak clearly and I could not understand their return message. Actually, didnt matter, when I got the return number, I got another voice message. Apria is a master in frustration. I challenge the CEO to call in and see what it is like to be a client.

The absolute worst customer service, and medical care support I have experienced. Besides shockingly rude and unprofessional behavior from everyone from the front desk receptionist to the mangers. They are unresponsive to clients medical needs. It is not unusually for clients to have to wait a week or more to make routine adjustments to their medical equipment. Need a new mask for your cpap machine, a process that takes 15 minutes or less? They will see you in a week or more. The most insulting thing about Apria is the gigantic poster in their front lobby, "We strive for 5" referring to their so called commitment to customer service. In all my interactions they strive for 1. If you have another option to meet your medical needs I suggest you use it.
