My experience with Brookdale Scotts Valley (formerly Oak Tree Villa) was 99% positive. My mother spent 3 years there and passed away there under Hospice Care at the age of 95. She was well cared for and happy with her living environment. I too was very pleased with the staffs attitude and abilities. Even in my mothers most difficult moments she was treated respectfully and patiently. Besides being supported by the staff at Brookdale she was also well received by the other residents. She had aphasia after her stroke (inability to speak) yet the other residents welcomed her at meals and in the common areas. As an assisted living facility Brookdale is not perfect, no such residence is but it far exceeded my expectations and those of my mother. I would not hesitate to refer a friend or other family member there. Ruth Elliot (the executive director) has done a superb job of hiring and managing since she took over her position. She has set a tone in the "home" of everyone helping each other out that makes Brookdale Scotts Valley a pleasure to live at. They have my thanks and respect for years of caring for my mother. I was there 2-3 times each week over that time period and always happy that my mother was able to live there. Thank you to all that cared for her there, Norman Tardif

Dirty carpeting throughout , not enough staff in dining room. Menu offerings do not reflect food we are served. The best thing we have going for us, is we have Victoria back in maintenance/housekeeping. Watch your billing if you are on auto pay! I hope I wont be penalized for this honest review. We have a new administrator tomorrow. But this Corporate Bottom Line living.
