I boarded two dogs at Chanticleer for three days. When I picked the dogs up, they seemed fine, so I think they took good care of them. However, when paying the bill, I discovered there were many charges not disclosed by Chanticleer previously. Be forewarned that your dog must have a canine influenza shot to stay here. Chanticleer will give the shot for $20, but they will also charge you a $49 examination fee. They did not tell me about this until I picked the dogs up. Also, I asked Chanticleer to give one of my dogs a pill and a topical spray twice daily (there a vet, arent they!?). They did this no problem, but also charged me an additional $108! The medicine wasnt even required! But I digress... Bottom line. Chanticleer will take good care of your pets, but you will pay for it. The "extra" charges ended up being 1.5 times the cost of the actual boarding! Chanticleer may seem like a good deal, but I suggest you board your pets elsewhere.

We now have three Yorkies, Toby the Wonder Dog (age 6), Penny (age 5), and Kobe (about age 10). They have received care at Chanticleer Vet Hospital for years. Toby and Penny were both "fixed" there, and the staff and doctor were all very gentle and kind. Penny had parvo, and it did not look good for her, but Dr. John Clay gave me the time and advice and equipment so that we could take her home, be nurses for her, and keep her hydrated until she came back to life, healthy and sassy! Kobe is now getting old, but is cared for well at Chanticleer Vets. I do not recommend often or lightly, but I do recommend the Chanticleer Vet Hospital. They have treated our small dogs very well. After several very bad experiences with expensive ‘pet hotels’, I boarded my great dane at Chanticleer. He barks a lot, but the staff there did not seem to be annoyed by it. He had his own run and was free to go in and out at will- not so at the ‘hotels’. He also had a foot problem which was being treated, but they were very concerned and took the time to discuss it with me, even though he was only an overnight guest. If we weren’t already established with another veterinarian, I would definitely take my pets to Chanticleer! Every person on the staff was friendly and concerned for the needs of my boy.

Our experience was great. Dr. Clay is very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He helped our Annie with skill and experience, also lots of kindness. Its amazing for me to have such a reliable place to take my babies when they are hurt and sick. Both doctors and ALL of the other staff always make me feel like family, and give our situations the most thorough care and attention. I tell everyone who will listen how impressive the Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital is and has been for a long time. Thank You All So Much for being there for us consistently. wooof woof meeooowwww

Rave reviews for the Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital outpatient clinic. Weve seen both vets, Dr. Condreay & Dr. Clay and they both were so helpful, professional, and caring of our SPCA Santa Cruz adopted kitten. Ive called a couple of times and Noelle at the front desk goes above and beyond to provide info and the vet called me back giving us great info & advice, w/o needing to go in for an appointment. I feel very confident knowing they are there for any issue that might come up. Getting a timely appointment has always been great too. Kudos to the practice!

This by far is one of the best vet offices Ive taken my dog to. Theyre all so very sweet and accommodating to personal needs. I brought my yorkie/chihuahua in for an update on his shots and to be fixed and microchipped and they were extremely professional and kept me up to date on everything I needed to know. They answer when you call (which is a plus for me since I ask so many questions and always feel like Im being bothersome) and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. Definitely recommending this office to all my animal loving friends!!

On again, when we went in for my dog Lucys Annual, we got great service and assistance at Chanticleer Vet Hospital - whether once a year for the annual exam and shots, or unexpected visits to handle infections and other problems. The Vets and staff are very experienced in handling whatever comes up. I have complete confidence in their ability to resolve my dogs issues - from annals to an ear infection. Thanks Chanticleer vets & staff for your many years of service in helping my wonderful pet stay healthy. Linda - a pleased dog owner.

Having just moved from the Big Island, we had no leads on quality vets. A fried recommended Chanticleer Vet Hospital, stating this vet would not only provide great care but also let us make the decisions..(previous vets just state what they want to do, regardless of price). My puppy and I were treated with lots of love and Im happy to say hes healthy and happy. Our vet, Dr Clay, is really kind and helpful. The staff here are bright and also very helpful. Looks like the next time we see Dr Clay will just be for a quick "hello" visit.

We have two small dogs that needed their shots and a general health check-up. The dogs dont usually take well to strangers but they warmed up to Jennifer almost immediately. They each had to get 3 shots and neither one of them even seemed to notice the shots when they were given. I found Jennifer to be a highly skilled and compitent vet who is gentle, caring excellent with animals. I highly recommend Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital and Jennifer in particular, for all your pets health care needs.

There are no more caring people than the doctors and staff at Chanticleer Vet Hospital. They were sympathetic and supportive when our dog had to be euthanized and enthusiastic over our new puppy. Dr. Clays experience is unsurpassed and he patiently explains everything he does and why he does it without talking down to us. He always spends time with our dogs, this is not an "assembly-line" facility like the low-cost clinics and worth the few dollars more. Chanticleer Vet Hospital is the very best!

Dr. Condreay has taken care of my cats through the past 15+ years. She has a wonderful "Bedside Mannor" and really takes her time to get to know the cat befor an examination. For me taking my cat to the vet is very stressful but knowing the care and attention my cat and myself will receive takes the edge off of the visit. I highly recommend anyone looking for a vet to consider Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital. Both Dr Condreay and Dr. Clay are very committed to our animals well being.

Dr.Condreay has taken excellent care of my two kitties. I first met her when my tiny SPCA rescue kitten had a very bad case of Kennel Cough. Her wonderful staff gave me, a new customer, an appoinment the same day and Dr.Condreay probably saved her life. That was 14 years ago and Ive been there very many times with my 2 cats since then. She is always gentle and caring and a very good doctor. Her staff has always been helpful. Im truly grateful for finding this vet.

Dr.Condreay is by far the best vet in the area. I live in Boulder Creek and bring my cat all the way to Santa Cruz because there is no better care. I have been to many vets in the area and none give the care that Dr.Condreay does. She has saved my cats life two times while another vet, IN THE MOUNTAINS (hint, hint to his name) once told me "its just a cat" as my cat struggled to get out of his grip. Im thankful I found Dr.Condreay and her excellent staff.
