While this clinic does offer doctors with three times as much training, and they went out of the way to try to make it feel less sterile, you could find yourself disappointed by the cold and sterile detached and indifferent doctor who wants to repeat the sales pitch for her practice rather than listen and explain how she has had success with her treatments. The receptionist is so nice, you might be fooled into thinking that the doctors will be as compassionate and gracious. They are not. The main doctor will go on with her sales pitch, make sure you understand they charge a lot of money and they want to make sure you can pay. They do not take insurance. I got the feeling they have figured out how to charge a lot more and if they dont take on anyone with any real sickness, then they look like they have a great track record. So you can go here for a free fifteen minute consultation and maybe you will be lucky and she wont suddenly be so booked up shes not taking any more patients for a really really long time... which begs the questoin, why did this person waste my time if they have no openings? It was a huge waste of time and embarrassing too. Going in and presenting your problems to a doctor and having her go from "accepting new patients" to " no room for you and your family " in fifteen minutes.. I guess finding a doctor who cares is like trying to find a garbage man who smells nice. It just doesnt work like that.

Very unprofessional - My first visit cost over $500 and I could not get a receipt for payments as their printer was out of ink (apparently it had been since the night before and no one bothered to take care of it). I was told I would receive an email receipt - I did not. The practitioner took a blood draw for an allergy test and severely bruised the draw site (second try, she couldnt get the needle in the vein on one arm, so she tried the other arm) - the bruise spread and remained for several days. The office forgot to take payment for the allergy test, so I received a call the next day asking for my payment info (they didnt keep my credit card number on file, though I had requested they save my payment info, and I was assured they would). Again requested a receipt and this time it was sent by email. 5 days later I received a call from the lab - the office had written my credit card number incorrectly on the requisition form. My lab test could not be run until payment was received. And all this could be overlooked if the treatments had actually addressed my health concerns... even a little bit. After 8 days of treatment, none of my health concerns had been address - I did not feel any better, nothing had improved. I am very disappointed. I will not be going back. Lesson learned.

I am very happy with my experiences at Santa Cruz Naturopathic Medical Clinic. I appreciate being treated with respect and recognized as a participant in my own healthcare choices. I have had great improvement from chronic illness using naturopathic approach. Also, I dont get faint and sweaty palms just walking into the office (unlike reaction to stepping into a Western MDs office)! Thank you,Dr Fleck
