My surgery time was changed at least 3 times. I got there at the time the surgery center told me to arrive and was put in a bed only to be told that the doctor would be a half hour late. The nurse that was supposed to start my IV could not do it successfully (I had another surgery there about a year ago and the same thing happened!). She had to call a different nurse. I laid on the bed with the fluorescent light in my eyes. Eventually the "head" nurse that "assured" me she would be there in surgery came in and introduced herself. I have chemical allergies and the lady smelled like a chemical rose which only exacerbated my headache that already existed from a lack of caffeine and the bright lights. My doctor arrived and said hi. I heard her whisper to the anesthesiologist that she had been told the surgery was a half hour later than I had been told. After the surgery, I finally asked if I could have something to drink because my throat was so parched. Upon my request, the nurse asked if I wanted water, grape or apple juice. I replied that I wanted grape juice. When my apple juice arrived, I gladly drank it, knowing I was on my way out!.

Everyone at the Surgery Center made my visit such a friendly and skillfull operation. Even though I was parked on anesthesia-induced Mars half the time, I still knew I was getting superb care. I can’t imagine a nicer and more competent team. Pre-op was smooth and stressless. And throughout the procedure from the surgeon to the anesthesiologist to the staff I felt I was in great hands.Wonder workers and helper/healers extraordinaire!

I had a large lipoma removed from my back at the Santa Cruz Surgery Center. The staff at the center are excellent. They were very attentive during preparation and post op, making sure i was comfortable and relaxed. A very professional staff that made me feel I was not just another body. I would highly recommend the surgery center.

I was treated with such care from nurses, nursess assistant, anesthesiologist and surgeon. Everyone was patient, took time to explain things and most of all showed a personal caring. Much appreciation to all of you. You made a difference for me.
