I think at some point in Dr Castellanos career she was a good dermatologist but I firmly believe those days are over for her. Shes an elderly doctor now in her 70s who should probably retire. I went in to have a small cyst on my ear removed (which I have done before with many dermatologists) she basically looked at my ear for all of 5 seconds and immediately told me that shes not touching it and that I should go see a plastic surgeon. I didnt want to be rude because i already felt rushed after she told me that she may not have time to address all my issues right from the beginning of my visit so essentially I just agreed with her and let her continue to the next issue I had. The last issue was i had some super tiny pin sized cysts on the lower part of my body which again could have probably been removed in all of 5 minutes, keep in mind that I have had cysts removed many times in this area before and again she told me to go see specialist. I was pretty dumbfounded when she said this to me. By the end of the visit she wrote me up a ton of prescriptions, I really had no idea what was going on and i left her office feeling like my cash paid trip was a total waste of time. Dr Castellano stop practicing dermatology if she doesnt want to do the work or feels she is unable to anymore because of her elder age. My reviews summary is that two days after my visit with Dr Castellano, I visited another local dermatologist who within all of 20 mins removed my cysts from my ear and lower body and most of it already healed up with zero to no visible scaring what-so-ever. Do your homework before visiting this doctor, there are much better dermatologists in the Sherman Oaks area. Good Luck.

guys, a 20 minute wait?? are you kidding? how long have you waited for your car to be looked at? how long have you waited for a meal at a nice restaurant? this is a doctors office, they see multiple patients at a time, 20 minutes is nothing! Lord, what do you want, your own personal physician?? Got ADD?? of course she recommends a follow up, what if it gets infected?? i would worry about the doctor who DIDNT request a follow up. and youre not paying for her time, youre paying for what she knows, which is about 15 years of high education in the field of medicine. and if it only takes her 3 to 4 minutes to diagnose the problem, then you got with a great doctor! what if it turned out to be cancerous?? maybe its not worth a few hundred bucks to determine that? wow, a $50 dollar co-pay, i guess youre going to have to go on welfare soon. In the meantime, why dont you go spend a $100 per ticket to disneyland, or $300 on a new cell phone.... you know, stuff thats really priced appropriately :)

If you dont have any insurance that will work for this doctor. Dont go. I understand now how it was so easy and so fast to get a appointment there. They start you off at $125 to get you in the door. I kid you not after waiting 20mins in the room. She examined you for 3-4mins. Then says its going to be $160 more for a biopsy. Tells you what you already know. A total waste...dont go unless your insurance is good and pays for everything. She expects you to pay $285 for about 20mins of works tops....Wow...and then if you want to think about it, oh theres another $65 customer re-entry charge for the next day..Remind you this isnt even at the start of the procedure yet. Horrible...so bad what a mistake!!

I also waited at least 30 minutes, the staff and the doctor were kind. The doctor asked about my concerns, and performed a scan, told me what to look out for. My only concerns was after the exam, the appointment turned into a sales pitch for items I didnt need. I might have been interested, however, the front desk had them waiting for me at check out and the items were very expensive.

Dr. Castellano came in with a warm greeting. The nurse prepped my case before the doctor came in. She listened to all of my concerns regarding a skin tag that I had after pregnancy. She delivered a local anesthesia and cut the tags off, cauterized them. She asked about other concerns I may have and and addressed them. Great doctor and I would recommend her completely.

Dr Castellano sees my son. She always speaks directly to him, takes the time to answer all of his questions and listens to his concerns. She has always prescribed exactly what he needed. She is very professional and he trusts her.

The staff is friendly, even when busy. The Dr. is warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. She listens to all of my concerns and explains what can be done.
