Dr. Moy is the most money hungry, unconscientious and incompetent doctor I have ever seen. In November 2010, I took my son to Dr. Moy to remove a small mole near his nose, because my son kept scratching his mole causing infection. Instead of removing the mole only, Dr. Moy recommended removing the mole along with the skin near the nose and then he would hide the stitches under the fold of the nose. He guaranteed that the scar would be completely unnoticeable; however, he stated that this procedure would be more expensive. I followed his recommendation; the small mole removal procedure cost $1000. One month after surgery, my son’s face formed a crescent-shaped red scar next to his nose. Dr. Moy recommended laser treatment to improve redness but at an additional cost. After 4 years, my son has a large, depressed, crescent shaped, 6 mm wide scar next to the left side of his nose. I took my son to his office again to show him the ugly looking scar. Dr. Moy admitted that the result was unsatisfactory. He could lessen the scar by having a few more revision surgeries, but I would probably be very unhappy because he would charge again. His attitude showed me that he really didn’t care about my son’s scar and that it was all my problem. Moreover, he did not think he was responsible for the scar he created. I felt all he wanted was to make more money again. I told him that how unprofessional and unethical he was and that he did not provide the standard of care that is expected of a medical practitioner. He immediately began justifying himself by saying that he was the President of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and boasting about his fame. After 15 minutes of vigorous discussion, he told me he will still charge a nominal fee of $250 for the scar revision surgery because of our discussion and, as a matter of his principle, any procedure will be charged, even if it is for the correction of his prior work. For that visit, I still received a bill for $90 from Dr. Moy, and the insurance company paid $30. I called Dr. Moy’s office and he finally waived the balance. The ugly looking scar really affected my son’s self-image and I felt very bad for him. I took my son to 6 plastic surgeons for further evaluations. They all recommended scar revision surgery in order to minimize the scar. The costs ranged from $3050 to $4725. All 6 of these plastic surgeons stated that Dr. Moy should not have removed such a large area of skin and that his stitching skill was inadequate. They also mentioned that his approach was totally unfeasible. It is because of my overall experience with Dr. Moy that I believe that he is the most money hungry, unconscientious and incompetent doctor I have ever seen.

Dr. Moy and his staff are wonderful. I was referred to Dr. Moy by my regular dermatologist because I developed a squamous cell cancer on my ear lobe. It required surgery where the surgeon had lab facilities in house. I was worried about how much of the ear lobe I would lose. After visiting the office my concerns were gone. Dr. Moys background and reputation was great and his demeanor was very pleasant, comforting and informative. Of course, more important than anything else was the complete success of the surgery. Thank you Dr. Moy and staff.

Dr. Ronald Moy and his staff are THE BEST. Once I entered his office doors I knew that I was in fantastic hands. Dr. Moy explained in complete detail the process of my carbon dioxide laser treatment, and in full detail what to expect with the recovery process. I was beyond thrilled with the results, and one year later still get compliments on how great my skin looks. My age spots and fine lines completely disappeared and my skin took on a more youthful glow. Two thumbs up Dr. Moy!

20 years ago I was referred to Dr Moy because of Malignant Melanoma Stage 4. He excised the melanoma and referred me to an oncologist at UCLA Med Center. I owe my life to Dr Moy!
