They FAILED to tell me that the health certificate was $50 they only told me the fee for the vaccines and the consultation. My husband has been unemplyed for a while now, and we are having to pick up and move cross country with my family bc we cannot afford to pay rent. I asked them to cut me a break on the health certificate (a piece of crooked copy paper), and they declined and were very rude about it. They may care for animals but they have no tact or care for human beings.

We had just moved to the area and I brought my dog in for an initial exam, a few days later I noticed a coupon on the VCA website for a free initial exam. I asked them about it and they were aware of the coupon, I asked if I could use it for my other dog and they said its for initial clients, which means I will have to pay for my other dogs initial exam. So they basically wanted the quick money from me and not a long term client. That will be the last time I go there, ever!

I had taken my elderly dog there who had been diagnosed with bone cancer. The staff was kind, compassionate and caring.They really cared for how it was breaking my heart having to put my faithful friend and companion to sleep.leting me stay with her until she took her last breath so shhe wont die alone or with strangers. Then gave me the time with her until I was ready to move her and let me take her to where I was going to bury her.

I have brought my dogs and cats to Westside for several years. The staff and doctors are friendly, helpful, and compassionate. I moved from Southport to the Sac State area but I still bring my animals here for their checkups and treatments. They also offer cat boarding!

Great place!! I take both my dogs here. They are a full service vet that also boarding. The employees are really nice and always show great care to my dogs. They can be busy at times and also occasionally get slow, so be patient.
