I thought Dr. Nowinski was a great doctor until I had surgery. He did a hysterectomy/bladder lift last April (2010) and from the time I went home 3 days later I started having problems. I thought I had a bladder infection and kept calling him about it. When I had my follow up appointment in May/June I told him something just did not feel right. It felt like my bladder was going to fall out. Had lots of pain. He told me everything was okay. As things progressed I called him several times. Either he was on vacation or it was a day they were not in the office. So I would go to my primary care doctor for testing and medication. He would send me for a test and say he didnt find any infection or could not tell. I never was told, that I could remember, about complications of this surgery. Like poking through the wall of the bladder. After several months, doctor appts., going to Urgent Care, and being so frustrated, Dr. Nowinski finally said I need to go to a urologist specialist in Sacto. By this time it was Sept. and I was in lots of pain. Got an appt. in Oct. to see Dr. Wesley Hilger. After 2 more visits he inserted a scope in my bladder and found the problem right away. Dr. Nowinski had inserted one side of the sling material, to support my bladder, into my bladder. Thus causing me an unbearable amount of pain. After paying well over $3,500 out of pocket, I was hoping I could get the surgery done before the end of the year. On Dec. 30 I had the surgery to remove the sling. I had covered my insurance cost so the surgery was totally paid for by my insurance. This surgery was around $50,000. So now I have fully recovered but still need the surgery to correct my urinary incontinence. I wish I would have gone to him in the beginning. The one reason I had the hysterectomy was to fix this problem. I dont have another $3,500 to pay the insurance deductible so I will endure this problem and maybe have it next year. I will have Dr. Hilger perform this surgery. I just wished that Nowinski would have told me sooner to go to a specialist and then I could have had it done all last year. And also for 8 months I was in so much pain I had to take hydrocodon (vicodin). I will never go to him again, as I dont feel he has the experience to do this type of surgery. I will tell everyone I know not to go to him as I would not wish this kind of pain on my worse enemy.

I have been a patient of Doctor Nowinskis for about 5 years, he was there for me in a horrible time when I lost a baby and ended up in the Emergency room. Someone notified him and he came straight to the hospital to treat me. I am now currently pregnant and under Dr Nowinskis care, I was scared at first having had lost before but he was informative and confident and helped me feel a little better. He got me in within a day or two when I had a medical emergency (subchorionic hemorrhage in my uterus) and got blood work and test done and checked the baby with th doppler. Thank for everything was ok

Ive been a patient of Dr. Nowinski for three years- Hes the best gynecologist Ive ever been to- he took the time to explain why I was having the issues I was having, gave me several options to consider, and wound up doing an ablation which took my monthly cycles from 10 days to only 1-2. What a huge difference! I highly recommend him!
