As far active duty military families are concerned, I do not recommend Katrina as a PCP. The front office attendant and Gloria are very polite and professional giving you the "family doctor" feeling. When seeing Nurse Practioner Katrina though everything went down hill. I tried explaining my prior medical history and was interrupted consistently. The dozens of medications and other treatments Ive had were of no concern to Katrina based on the interruptions I kept on receiving as if she wasnt interested. She was not interested in actually listening to medical issues that contribute to the primary reason I was/am being seen. I was told that my medical problems are derived from side effects of current medications even though Im on those medications for the exact medical issue Im being seen for and saw success for years up until recently. In addition she was unusually defensive the entire time because I told her I tried CBD oil (the stuff that helps veterans and others with ptsd, seizures, pain, ect), smoking cannabis, and all of a sudden it was like I did something wrong. Despite the fact that Katrina is not a doctor she (without me saying anything) came back in the room saying doctors are wrong about CBD oil and cannabis. While it doesnt bother me because she isnt educated like a doctor is (difference between a nurse practitioner and a doctor is one went to college longer and thus is much more educated and intelligent), its frustrating because you cannot expect an open relationship with Katrina without a potentially hostile environment being brought about due to you doing something she does not agree with similar to Isis mentality in the Middle East. All the while Im sitting there wondering if shes actually trying to help me or get me to argue with her. I almost wanted to walk out because she just wouldnt stop being hostile but I needed to see someone who can write prescriptions and get medicine. I ended up walking out as soon as Katrina was done having her episode, prescribed medicine, and left. No need to setup anything further with someone who isnt a doctor but pretends she is one. I could not even describe my symptoms to full detail therefore her current diagnosis is actually incorrect. Thats how little respect she gave me. While I was able to get the ultimate result I desired, I was unable to find a family practice who listens, does not act aggressive in nature, or actually cared about the issue. The paperwork I filled out was more friendly then the Practioner to put things in perspective. If youre not looking for a family doctor this is the place, if youre looking for one, go elsewhere. While the staff is kind and friendly, Katrina not so much. I read the other reviews on here and gave her a shot because of them and turns out the five stars were incorrect as far as the experience is concerned. Katrina has anger issues, does not listen, and pretends she is a doctor based on her lack of education but rebuttals to everything doctors have verified. I would go for a public practice vs private at least regarding this place. Katrina isnt someone who is looking to build a relationship with her patients based on her anger issues and lack of concern. While my wife fights for your freedom in the Middle East, you berate me for my choices in medicine and then act rude and disrespectful after knowing what Ive tried without even listening to why Im consistently sick. Thats not how you treat medical patients at all especially when you literally are not qualified to give your opinion on certain medicines, because youre not a doctor.

As the owner and primary practicing provider at Bear Creek I would like to address some of the concerns listed here. I take listening to patients very seriously and use their feedback as a means of improving our practices. I would first encourage anyone to visit a webpage called Patient Fusion and search Katrina Grablin, PA-C to find over 250 reviews with an average of 5/5 stars for excellence in service. Only verified patients, seen in clinic, with their email addresses verified can utilize this service. I have to politely disagree with anyone who feels that follow-up appointments to review their labs after a physical is unfair. A physical is not what we term a "global code" in primary care. It is an imperative piece of continuity of care for patients to receive follow-up on labs, particularly if abnormal, whether they are drawn at a physical or not. The only practices I am aware of that may offer a "global fee" for this service are concierge practices. For a hefty annual fee, one can become a patient of one of these practices whilst keeping their monthly insurance premiums as well. In regards to collections, unfortunately, we like many other medical practices have been forced into financial policies that we wish didnt have to be put into action. This is certainly a reflection of the poor outcomes with the Affordable Healthcare Act. Collections practices in medicine are not a punishment to patients, please be mindful that it is still a business to operate a medical clinic. Medical services, like any other service, whether getting your oil changed, receiving a pedicure or seeing a therapist often require out of pocket cost to the patient. Especially to those unfortunate patients who now have incredibly high deductible coverage plans. Finally, I would like to admit that no one can please everyone. Not all personalities fit well together. Not to mention, a disgruntled person not receiving what they want or hearing what they want to hear, is certainly not an accurate reflection of the overall care and quality of the services provided at Bear Creek Family Medicine. As a disclaimer- I must use 5/5 stars for my review to keep our overall average appropriate :) We hope to see you at your next appointment at Bear Creek Family Medicine.

I brought my son into the doctor there on Monday. We had been scuba diving over the weekend and he had an ear ache. The doctor assumed it was do to the pressure in his ears. I tried to explain that I thought it was more than that because of some variables that I thought is was an infection. It felt like she didnt listen to me and dismissed what I said. After she checked she said it was trauma and that it looked similar to an infection, but didnt want to give him antiobiotic drops and to come back at the end of the week if it persisted. (Based on my readings, Doctors prescribe antibiotics for trauma to prevent future infection) That same Monday, we were met with an attitude from the lady at the front desk. Rude, condisending, and just put out by helping us. The office staff alone is a reason to NEVER go here. When we went back on Thursday for additional help it was even worse. I called in and told them my sons ear was worse and he needed the antiobotic drops. The doctor refused to give us a prescription because "He didnt have an infection." And that I could always bring my son in at the end of the following day. Even though from the beginning, she wasnt sure. I set that appointment, but canceled the next day because I had NO confidence the the people I was dealing with. I chose to go to another Doctor, only spent about $30 more than Bear Creek charged me for a wrong diagnosis. After about 30 seconds a real doctor diagnosed him with BOTH and inner ear and outer ear infection. Yesterday he started his medicine and today he already feels better. I have never filled out a negative review on a company, but I thought this was a must. I was already never going back because of how rude the staff is, but now Im going to spread the word on how poorly this situation was handled by everyone involved My son went through 5 solid days of pain and they didnt care. One day is all it took to feel better for him to feel better. Overall, the PA does not listen to her patients and the staff couldnt care. Please read the previous reviews.
