ABYSMAL office staff and service! FIND ANOTHER DOCTORS OFFICE! While my primary care doctor Lorraine Van Slyke is exceptional the poor service and ability of the office staff to do their jobs makes that a moot point. Nearly every time I try to call to book an appointment I cannot reach and real person despite calling as many as five times in a single day during open office hours. Leaving a voicemail is the same as dropping a letting in the mail without a stamp: fruitless. Three weeks ago I had a pre op physical done to ensure that I was fit for surgery. Today is the day before my surgery and despite 5 calls and voicemails from the surgery scheduler at my surgeons office and several calls from me they had yet to send over the information required. It required me to personally stop in their office and get loud with the receptionist who has less warmth than the arctic circle, to see anything done. That was after I stood at the front desk with no one at the desk (though there was someone I could see through a window) and not be acknowledged for 10 minutes, leaving me to wonder if the office was closed or the rapture had occurred. I wish I could say this was an isolated incident with APEX, whoever my consistent experience was been poor at best when dealing with anyone other than Lorraine and a few of the nurses. The relationship and exceptional care I received from her kept me coming back, but that is no longer good enough. Comprehensive they may be, but comprehensively poor is still not good.

Ive been going to Apex since I moved to Denver in 2007. I can say without a doubt that Dr. Mohr really cares for his patients, and is not just trying to herd as many insurance charges through as are possible in one day. He takes the time to talk to you and let you fully explain your symptoms and ask as many questions as needed. Sometimes there may be a delay in being seen, but thats been my experience at every doctors office in the last 30 years, with the exception of elective Lasik surgery. And guess what, if there is a delay its probably because there is someone in the office who is sicker than you! Some of these reviews remind me of people at my vets office. Chew the staff out after they just had an emergency surgery and lost a pet a few minutes prior, because there was a delay or maybe they didnt give you that fake clown smile you were needing. Sure, a primary care physician may not always nail your diagnosis on the first visit. But think of the breadth of knowledge these people need since they did not just choose a specialty with a small subset of the knowledge required. My only real complaint, is that annual physical exams are conducted in 2 visits. I think these could easily be compressed to one, which is all my insurance will cover as "preventative care"; if the patient could opt to receive their blood test results over phone or email. Now, if only I could review the disgusting insurance system in general...

I cant say enough about Dr. Mia Scott and her nurse Isaiah! Dr. Scott was my Dr. from about 1990-2000, when I relocated out of the area. I returned to Colorado a couple years back and looked her up to re-establish our patient/dr. relationship and couldnt be happier! This Dr. is truly passionate about what she does and is in this line of work for all the right reasons (which in this day is something to commend when our health care industry is in dire need of reform...or at least the health care insurance industry is!) Dr. Scott always makes time to listen and address all my issues, one at a time, taking into consideration how our bodies work as a whole. She is always first and foremost concerned with my overall health. Shes not a pill pusher or a physician who believes in running unnecessary tests or having you come in for repetitive unnecessary office visits. She is involved in her practice in every aspect and understands how the entire visit to a clinic affects your overall health...from the physical and mental impacts to the financial impacts. I rave her and her nurse, Isaiahs praises to everyone I know and would recommend her over any, yes ANY, other Dr. that I have seen or personally known in my 47 years. She truly understands and promotes whole body, mind and spiritual health! I wish more western medicine Dr.s took the approach she does...

Ive been with APEX since 2000 or 2001. Dr. Mia Scott was a great doctor, but over time I was stuck with PAs who have misdiagnosed common illnesses and sent me to specialists unnecessarily. I requested a different PA eventually and was pleasantly surprised, however the front desk staff is the reason I will NEVER go back. Two days ago I was put on hold 3 times, with nobody ever coming back on the line to greet me. These calls were made around 3pm this Tuesday. The fourth call, I asked nicely to not be put on hold and the lady was extremely rude and snappy after that. I asked to get a refill of a medication I got there a year ago. The lady told me I needed to tell her what the medication was specifically or she couldnt help me, and I asked her why she couldnt just look at my chart thats over ten years old and would clearly have that information. After groaning, she said she would let the doctor know to see if he could refill it and hung up. I called back the next day, left a message saying I absolutely needed to know if they couldnt refill it so I could go somewhere else ASAP, and I never heard back from anyone. This place has gone downhill. The bad reviews are very accurate. TLDR; Go here if you want to only see Physician Assistants and love getting treated like an inconvenience by the front desk staff.

If I could give a negative star, I would. I have routinely had issues with this office in that they rarely, if ever, answer the phone, or place people on perpetual hold. Today alone, Ive tried to call them SEVEN times, and left two voicemails due to an allergic reaction to a medication my doctor there gave me, which is now turning quite severe and not healing. This is beyond merely unacceptable, but is rather egregious. I have never, in all my years, dealt with such incompetent handling of patient needs. They even turn off the phones for TWO hours every day for lunch, which is absurd to me. Im a working professional, and usually have to eat my lunch through a meeting or at my desk while working. If I performed the way these people do, I would be fired. In point of fact, that is exactly what I have to do now: fire my primary care provider and go find another one. But first, I have to now go to either the urgent care or ER just to see a healthcare professional simply because these jokers will literally not even answer their phone. Run, dont walk, away from this place.

We have been patients of this office for years. We noticed the service getting worse and more unprofessional. They act like they know you but truly have no idea as the p.a. we had seen numerous times called my wife my daughter. Recently they completly screwed up our bill, entered all of the wrong information for insurance, sent the bills to the wrong address and even after getting corrected info over the phone from the wife still managed to screw everything up. They then had the audacity to send the bill to collections and write a nasty letter saying they were dropping my wife from the practise all because of their complete mistake! When we called them out on it we had to make numerous phone calls to fix their screw up as we had coverage for a 160 dollar bill. They fixed it but offered no apology to us or my wife for the aggravation they caused! Much better practices out there and beware of worthless office and billing skills even like us who have full coverage insurance.
