I chose SVH because of a perfect score of reviews off the internet. I did notice that "Dr Sara" had most of the comments in the reviews but there were 2 or so mentioning "Dr Lisa". I made my appt on a Friday afternoon being concerned that after pulling a seed from the top of my pups paw that he wasnt bouncing back as quickly as I expected he should, so was thinking perhaps infection or some other issue I was not determining. The care my puppy received was not horrific, but it was very disappointing. Ive had dogs and cared for their health and well-being my entire life and am fairly good at knowing when one needs assistance. I was concerned with infection or irritation SPECIFICALLY in the front paw. Dr Lisa spent an exorbitant amount of time pulling seeds out of a rear paw that was going to be shaved down that very evening which I stressed I was going to do (and I did just that.)( The pup had a full grooming and was cleaned that very evening after the visit.) Dr Lisa continued fussing over the one back paw and the other 3 and seemed to glance a second time at the front paw but simpy said "Oh its fine". However there was still an issue with that FRONT PAW. On Saturday after my visit I woke to a huge swelling on the backside of that Front Paw. So I went back to what I know and did my own doctoring. His paw was soaked in Epsom Salts periodically over an afternoon to open the abscess which was only fluids, and it also opened up another spot in which I found a SEED behind his paw. I extracted it and the paw has healed perfectly with no other indications of pain, irritation, or infection. I was disappointed that as many times as I pointed out to Dr Lisa that my concern was for the Front Paw and not his grooming needs that she overlooked my intuition and knowledge of my own dog. I was further disappointed that instead of discussing with me the need to get the seeds out of his fur, she had an assistant hold down my pup who was in emotional stress only, but nevertheless stress, in order to simply "groom" him by using forceps and pulling out seeds. It was as if she did not believe I was going to do what I said I was going to do, However, I did. He was shaved, brushed, bathed, that very evening as a matter of fact and is a happy healthy pup. I dont quite know what to make of my visit at SVH with Dr Lisa, the atmosphere seemed pleasant enough but I cant in good conscience give a 5 star review. Perhaps I should have specifically requested Dr Sara as she is the one with the stellar review section. I have always preferred going to a vet who will LISTEN to me since I am the one living with the dog and taking it home after treatment. Perhaps listening would be something that could be improved upon here.

We had some suspicions about our family old friend Buddy (our dog). He was showing signs of slowing down, and sleeping a lot, who was usually more active and loved our morning walks. We took him in to see Dr. Sara, who had known Buddy for a few years. She examined him, and a mass was located in his groin. She did a biopsy that was sent to CSU for examination. It was determined that our old friend was dealing with cancer, so some suggestions were made for treatment. Right now, he is up and around, and playing with our newest addition to the family, Lucy, a rescue terrier mix who is very good at keeping Buddy active. We really appreciated Dr. Saras care, and frank explanations about Buddys condition. We are working to give him a good life for what he has left, and Lucy is helping too. Excellent care was given by the whole staff working with Buddy, and I could really see that they all really were interested in how Buddy was doing through the process. Thanks to all of you at Southwest Veterinary Hospital!

Dr. Sara Mark was recommended to me by a friend, and after a "meet and greet" appointment, I had my dogs records transferred to SVH. Less than a week later, my sweet Cavalier King Charles spaniel (Dashiell) was brutally attacked by another dog. Drs. Sara and Lisa saved his life with emergency surgery. He spent 10 days recovering, and the whole team took tremendous care of him. With the number of deep bite wounds he sustained, his potential for infection was high. Three times a day they irrigated his wounds, and he had no post-surgical infection, nor any other problem. Even after a trauma like that, Dashiell is peaceful and happy when he goes back for check-ups, and so am I! I have confidence in the judgment and expertise of Dr. Sara and will be forever grateful for the beautiful care Dashiell received at Southwest Veterinary Hospital.

We have been going to Southwest Veterinary Hospital for over 7 years, and have really appreciated the knowledgeable, compassionate staff. From the veterinary assistants to the vets, everyone in the office is friendly, efficient, and they obviously love working with animals. The care is outstanding, and appointments are easily available at convenient times. Weve even had a couple of emergency visits that were handled in a very timely manner. One of our dogs developed cancer, which was eventually fatal. The staff at SW Vet helped us all along the way, with referrals to specialists, wellness checks, and eventually euthanasia. They were very compassionate and kind, and we felt very supported by their care and concern. I recommend them to everyone I know who is looking for a great veterinary practice!

We have been taking our dogs to SW Vet Hospital for approximately 10 years and we could not recommend them more highly. You are greeted by and incredibly friendly, caring and efficient front office staff. In particular, I give my highest praise to Dagmara who genuinely cares about each and every animal that enters the front door. The Doctors are all excellent. Dr. Mark has been our primary vet and has been outstanding. She listens to your concerns. Takes time to explain her diagnosis and the various option available. We have also seen Dr. Adams. She, like Dr. Mark is wonderful. Very thorough and clearly explains what she finds in her examination. SW Veterinary Hospital is the best.

I have been taking my pets to SWVH for over 10 years. The care, for both my cat and dogs, has been top notch. For routine and emergency visits, they provide me with compassionate, timely care and follow-up. When my lab was diagnosed with lymphoma they provided a diagnosis quickly and outlined multiple treatment options available to me. They assisted me in making a realistic decision about treatment. They respected my decision for comfort care and supported me throughout the process. I also have used their kenneling services. Their flexibility in drop off and pick-up times is much appreciated. My animals love going to the vets. I cant imagine taking them anywhere else.

I have been taking my dogs to SW Vets for about five years. As a dog owner my whole life, I have seen many veterinarians, but never as competent and caring as the those at SW Vets. Through my young labs pancreatitis to the death of my old golden retriever, Dr. Lisa and Dr. Sara have been outstanding. I was absolutely distraught over having to put my golden retriever Rosie to sleep last year when she got really bad. Dr. Lisa and the staff handled the whole situation in an extremely dignified yet empathetic manner. I cant imagine going through such an ordeal without them! Now SW Vets are taking care of my crazy chocolate lab - again with professionalism AND a sense of humor.
