UPDATE: In response to Sue. The thing is, this happened over a year ago and I was never told about the fee until now. I had planned on paying it, but how I was treated by the Vet (not by the office staff) to me was incredibly rude even though yes, I had clarified with the young lady a year ago that my husband wouldnt have to pay anything additional, because I know he wouldnt have the money to do so. But again, I had every intention to pay the amount when it was brought to my attention that it was owed, but not after being treated the way that I was. Thank you for taking the time to respond! Julie It breaks my heart to write this because I used to love this clinic and used them for my dogs as well as foster dogs when I have them, unfortunately, after the new owners have taken over, it seems they no longer care about taking care of their customers. Recently, I called to see if I could get a copy of one of my dogs shot records, and was told to come by and get them. I sent my 12 year old in to get them later that afternoon where she was told that I had a balance of $42 for a shot from over a year ago and they are not releasing any of my vet records until it is paid. When I explained to them that I was charged that fee after being told, incorrectly, that I would only owe a total of $42 for the 2 part shot, instead of it being $42 for each set of shots (it is a shot that needs to be given in a 2 part series), so in reality I didnt even owe that amount in my opinion since I was not told about it prior to them giving my dogs the second shot, it didnt seem to matter and the owner told me that it is within his power to withhold anything because of a balance. When I mentioned how that seemed really shady, he didnt think it was at all! Needless to say, the ladies at the front desk are still so so nice, and even they seemed a bit mortified at what was transpiring. If you value customer service, please consider taking your pets to another vet. I plan on doing so as well, and luckily none of my dogs are currently under any specific treatment, so they will not be getting the $42 they wanted, nor will they be getting any money from me for the 3 dogs I currently have or the dozens of fosters I care for in a year, and can keep my pets medical records. I will have to start from scratch :(

Have a cat that hates the vet...bites, growls, hisses when he has to go. So, on first visit, told the staff and vet to be cautious and I would help handle him. They shrugged me off like they didnt want to be told anything. Decided to do a dental cleaning with extractions on next visit, vaccines and blood work while under anesthesia too. Told Dr Sanders to take out any teeth that were bad. On day of the dental procedure, I signed their form where they asked, but they didnt have my initials on their form to "take out any teeth that were bad" even though I made that clear on the first visit, so she left 5 bad teeth in his mouth. And...didnt give his vaccinations. Also had my cat in their computer as a dog, so all pain meds and antibiotics say for a canine. Great, is it even cat medicine? Now, I have a cat who hates to go to the vet, have to go back, not only for vaccinations, but also for another dental procedure. Everyone knows you cant look in a cats mouth, so it only makes sense that the vet would take out any bad teeth while in there. She was "worried that she wouldnt get paid" for the extra extractions, so she didnt take them out. I dont know what I even paid for on the first visit because she didnt take any notes. I thought it was clear and all taken care of on the first visit that I didnt even mention it on the day of surgery. When the vet doesnt listen to the client, then its time to get a new vet. Thats what Im going to do!

Weve been going to another vet for our two dogs whole lives. But my little one has bad teeth and needed extractions. The price our vet quoted me almost made me swallow my teeth! I called around and got a quote almost half the price at Animal Clinic North. I realize its not great to take your pet to a place theyve never been when theyre going to go under anesthesia, but I also realize dental work is pretty routine. My first call to them for a quote, the woman was super friendly. I felt I was given the appropriate amount of information and communication. They also let me have the agreement that if there were more teeth to pull than the exam revealed, they would call me during the procedure to ask first, before extracting. (My little dog was born without her pre-molars, so has very few teeth as it is!) My other (big) dog blew her CCL. My vet immediately said "TPLO" and quoted me $3,800! Her exam seemed cursory to me, so I called ACN and set up an appointment for a 2nd opinion. The vet did the same exam (so that reassured me) and then did an x-ray to try to see if it was a full or partial tear, and how much arthritis and inflammation she had. I found the staff and vet very friendly, professional and informative. Ill stick with our current vet because they have our dogs whole history, and other than their prices I have no issue with them. But its nice to know we have a 2nd option Im very happy with for our pets.

We began taking our lab to this office last fall. After 2 emergency visits to this office and an annual exam they completely missed the fact that he had pneumonia and had been struggling to breath for months even though I had consistently talked about his breathing issues! It took a fill in vet to finally do lung xrays on the last emergency visit and we are very grateful to her. We took those xrays to another vet where he stayed for a few hours and was diagnosed with with Bronchial Pnemonia. She also did some minimal research and diagnosed the issue with his hind legs and the dizzy spells, not a stroke or brain tumor as this office told me was possibly the issue and to just leave him on steroids indefinitely. With these 2 issues figured out 2 months later he is just about recovered, happy and very active although has some continuing lung issues from going undiagnosed for so long. This whole experience made me feel that just because he is 12 years old and a large breed doesnt mean he doesnt have the right to be treated seriously and any issues figured out. I say this because on our last check up visit I basically was told "heres some pain pills keep him comfortable for the time he has left". When I emailed this office about how upset I was and letting them know what the other vet found out I never heard back from anyone. I decided to post this review to let others know how I felt about my experience with Animal Clinic North.
