My normal vet was booked so I tried this place. Called ahead to let them know my dog probably had kennel cough. Got there on time for my 6pm appt and there was no attempt to get him back into a room right away (to avoid exposing him to other dogs) so I had to block about 20 dogs that wanted to say hi to him. Around 6:30, I was put it in a room and the vet techs were very nice. Around 7pm (closing time), I asked if it would be better for us to come back another time since they were obviously busy and they told me someone would be in any minute. There was no further communication so at 7:15pm, I gave up and left. I called the next day to ask if they could at least let me know if my dog had a fever or not (the vet techs did do that) and she said no but offered no apology for the wait or offer to make it up to me. Yikes!!!

Took my dads dog here for some ear irritation - said no infection, but the medications they gave her subsequently made her deaf. Suckered my dad into "saving money" by purchasing the wellness plan which was supposed to help with the cost of her upcoming teeth cleaning. Dropped her off first thing in the morning, and before they even started the surgery, they called 3 times, each with another $60 test that needed to be run - so a total of $180 above the price they quoted and NONE of it covered by the wellness plan that he purchased. Horrible customer service - definitely seemed like a scam jacking the price up repeatedly and trying to make him feel guilty about it. Will NOT return here EVER!

BEWARE: the lack of knowledge of these vets can put your pet in danger. The plan is a good deal but I would tread carefully. They overmedicated my healthy young dog during a teeth cleaning (something hes had a few times before) and almost killed him. They didnt even tell me when I called and asked if he was ok, and if I could pick him up. I found out when they billed me to RESUSCITATE him! They admitted it was their fault for overmedicating him. It was NOT a poor response to anesthesia (which can happen during surgery). I will pay the extra money to go elsewhere from now on.

I look at these reviews and wonder "they cant be speaking about the same clinic where I take my cat...It cant be." Dr. Carson is the absolute BEST! She is kind, caring, VERY professional and does not push anything other than what is needed for your pet. Also, Tamera (Senior Tech) is the same, absolutely wonderful!! We recently adopted a new pet and moved out of the area. I have a Banfield a few miles from my home; however, I will travel to the Thornton Banfield because I do not trust anyone else with my pets care! I promise you...YOU will not be sorry!

They are good but are WAY tooooooo busy. I used to be able, and they encouraged, me to bring my animals in anytime if I thought something was wrong. Well my dog ate quite a bit of chocolate and they wouldnt see me with out an appointment. The appointment they tried to give me was two days out. Glad they cared about a customer with 5 pets on there beloved pet plans.

My puppy was peeing blood and dropping clots and I could not get her in where I live. I called banfield in Thornton and they took her in immediately and was so very nice.
