Do not come here. Id rather drive past here and die on the road, on to a better hospital first. Me, my girlfriend, and her family had the unfortunate pleasure of coming here on Saturday 4/22/17. Her father lie dying upstairs in the I.C.U, meanwhile we( me & her) were treated horrible downstairs by their receptionist. The woman did her best to provoke both of us, even after we stated that was an emergency (I guess thats what the E.R. is for right? I dont know...) and that we wanted to see the patient before they passed. There were no feelings of sympathy. All was very evident in how this nurse decided to treat us. Her "power trip" was in full effect as she escalated the situation further and further. Telling my girlfriend that she would not be "allowed by the doctor" to which she had supposedly spoken to directly - as she the Nurse claimed. There was one couple, a woman and daughter I assume; They were there before we arrived. Who had the unpleasant chance of also witnessing this b.s. The nurse tried using this same couple as reason to why she couldnt help us. We didnt want to push them out of line.....we knew they were there for help as well. My girlfriend tried explaining that it was an emergency. And that her father and the rest of her family were already upstairs. And we had been contacted not long before by the hospital to come down immediately. Nothing registered with this nurse. Nothing. Security was called at one point. After everything escalated. The nurse then tried to manipulate & twist the story to her benefit. I myself even asked her professionally numerous times, pleaded and begged her rationally that she allow us upstairs. I explained the circumstances to this woman. She did not care. She continued to antagonize and be rude to us both. This caused a big and unnecessary scene that night. At this point there was no need to try and communicate anymore. I dont understand how someone can work in that type of environment, yet not only be so poorly trained, be also so full of themselves. Trust me when I say. Stay far from here.

I worked at a hospital in VT and heard a person say, "I wouldnt take my dying pet there..." this is how I feel about Bristol hospital. I know someone who got assaulted by an RN; I know people whove had to just get up and leave because they forgot they were there; the same has happened to me twice. 99% of the nurses are absolutely wonderful; everything else is just really questionable. Like when youre running a fever and your blood pressure is 181/120 and youre having heart arrhythmias theyll tell you theres nothing wrong and its not an emergency; or for instance youre pouring cup after cup of blood out of your body and they tell you thats not an emergency or they tell you they will get medication to help with a cluster headache and they disappear for over half an hour; their ER is appalling.

As my father was dying I was refused entry and lied to and told I wasnt allowed by the Dr. This was all false. Called risk management and so far no response but its not over. I will continue on with the complaint. Until someone hears me. GO TO UCONN OR NEW BRITAIN HOSPITAL. BRISTOL HOSPITAL IS FULL OF HEARTLESS "PEOPLE". I WOULD RATE THEM A -50 STARS IF I COULD.

All the nurses are and look miserable makes you not even want to be here. Why become a nurse if your pases at the world? People need help and theyre just giving unwelcome looks.

The staff are junkies, so they prescribe opiods to themselves and preach "sobriety". They say, "do as we say, not as we do". They spit on patients.
