I called to make an appointment - pretty simple procedure I would think. Was put on hold three times, each time for several minutes. Eventually hung up while still on hold, called the chain next door and booked an appointment for the next day within two minutes. I would have been a new customer at Hamden Eye, and if this is how they treat potential new business, I dont want to think how they treat you once youre in the system. When I spoke with them before they put me on hold for the third time, they would not give me an accurate price for my contact lens fitting, but said that it would be somewhere between $55 and $150. The other two chains that I called gave me a definitive flat rate. Usually when a business says "somewhere between X and Y," the final bill is always Y because of some "unforeseeable" turn of events. I can smell a low-balling from a mile away, I just didnt expect it from a medical establishment. In the end, I have had no experience with the actual doctors at Hamden Eye, so take this review for what it is.

I went to Hamden Eye for the sixth trip now in trying to obtain a new prescription for glasses. After the doctor told me i had an issue with my eye and went through 4 prescriptions he concluded he had no idea what was wrong. In addition, the prescription I was given my glasses was wrong. Very nice doctors, the office staff is not very knowledgeable.

The doctors are really nice, but the personnel is not. The service is poor. I ordered a pair of glasses and I received a different case for them. They told me that my brand glasses are a part of the brand case company. That was not true. I went back to exchange the case and they gave my a new case, but a case for sunglasses. I am really disappointed.

I have been going to Dr. Weston at Hamden Eye for over 25 years. As a health care professional myself I am impressed with the thoroughness of the exams and the up-to-date clinical service. I highly recommend this practice.
