If you think they care, you are dead wrong and might end up in a hospital. I was referred here in July of 2015 after a bad episode sent me to a local hospital for evaluation. After my stay at the hospital I was directed to Mid Atlantic for therapy and medication purposes. Everything was fine at first, I got through therapy and was connected with Dr Valentine. I came in for my regular appointments and generally had no issues. Sometime in 2016 Dr. Valentine decided she was leaving the practice, this is where the trouble began. I received a letter in the mail stating that they were dropping me as a patient. I quickly called the office to find out the doctor was in fact leaving the practice. I was told by the person I spoke with that they had mailed me a letter stating that I had until August 29th 2016 to contact them or they would drop me as a patient. I never received that letter. I have a current prescription that expires in a few days and I am not supposed to quit cold turkey, I was advised they could see me in January and would offer no help with my prescription. So here I sit, a patient who was formerly in a hospital due to anxiety, who was doing well on a prescription and is being refused service at the place that prescribed it. You would think them knowing that I could end up in a hospital again and the fact this medication should not be stopped cold turkey would be enough for them to at least see me or refer me to someone who can. I was simply told "there is nothing we can do for you." Hopefully I can find someone wiling to help me before I am in bad shape. Certainly here no one seems to care if I end up in a hospital or not. I would avoid this place at all cost. If they are unwilling to help someone in the predicament that I am in, dont be fooled into thinking they will care about you either. Stay far away............................

Chris Lilly, thats the exact same thing that happened to me!! I went to my appointment yesterday, 1/19/17 and I signed in at the window and told the receptionist that my insurance changed. she did not tell me that the nurse practitioner I was to see did not take my insurance. She let me see her. During my visit I told the nurse practitioner that my insurance changed and I told her what I had and do you think she told me that she didnt take it? Hell, no! She said "oh good. Lets have you come monthly". I was really happy with her until I got home and got a call from Mid Atlantic telling me that the provider I saw is out of network for my insurance and I would be held responsible for the visit. I went off on her and told her I should have been told that by the receptionist when she took my new cards. I have filed an official complaint with our insurance commissioners office and the federal government on these people. They are very condescending, rude, unprofessional and basically a low life ghetto facility. Never again!!!!

I would give them a zero if I could. Having done research for medications for adults over 50 with ADHD I was disappointed and shocked when my wife and I went to see Dr Y_____ at the Chapel Street facility. He said Strattera is the only medication for people over 50. She is on it and it doesnt work and has terrible side effects. He said stimulants are not for adults because they are bad for the heart. On the Internet with a lot of research they say different. They prescribe stimulants because they work for older people. Two pharmacists told me the same thing. If a person doesnt have heart problems stimulants are a non issue. He didnt want to do anything he hasnt done because he believes in the myths for people over 50 and stimulants. STAY AWAY unless you are complacent and content with no progress. He like so many others think when you hit 50 its time to stop trying to help yourself. Sadly he was an older doctor. But I suspect one who stays working for the money and not the caring concern he should have for patients.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR TREATMENT!!!!!!! I had a horrible time when I was seeing one of the " highly trained mental health professionals" she was constantly rude to me, she would talk down to me. I would leave each appointment feeling hopeless and heart broken. She would talk me down, assume that I was some type of criminal or something when I have never stolen a single thing in my life never took money and have always been grateful when given something. The person who prescribes medication is a nurse practitioner I was given a meds that are meant for anti -seizure for "mood imbalance" My grandfather who has been a doctor for many years and has a background in mental health after looking at the medications and reading on it told my parents to stop using it asap and that she is not qualified to be prescribing those types of medications. This place is a prime example of what a joke the mental health system in the untied states is.

Im posting to echo all of the issues that others have mentioned. No one explained their scheduling policies to me. When I was making summer appointments, I scheduled a 2:15 time because it worked with my summer schedule. I teach and once school starts, I need a later time. Well, firstly I was told that I couldnt schedule appointments in person and I needed to call the intake line. The intake line never picks up. Then after emailing i was told that I have to go back into the general pool and get a new therapist. Its so hard to find someone to work with and they dont seem to understand that. Im completely crushed because I wanted to get things worked out before starting the school year up. I have so many social issues and I cant believe the lack of compassion.

I love my doctor, Dr. Valentine, but the office is absolutely impossible to work with. The prescription refill line is my biggest problem. It literally says in the message that they will not contact you and it is the patients job to follow up with the pharmacy. But when I cal the pharmacy, they havent been contacted by the office. If it happens once, its a fluke. But Ive been going to this office since 2012 and I have NEVER had an easy time getting a script refilled. Ive completely given up. Sorry, Dr. Valentine, youre really a very good doctor. Wish you had very good support personnel to help you.

This place is aweful. Do not go here for treatment. I went there for suboxone treatment and after the third week I went to my apt with Dr yacoub to get my prescription and they told me they could not give it to me because my second and third drug screen was not back from labcore. I called labcore and they sent the tests to them 3 times and they still said they didnt get them. What they did to me was inhumane. To leave me on a weekend with no medication is crazy. I will never go back there and I will never recommend this place to anyone.
