I have seen Dr. Jessica Frisch twice. I was fostering with an intention to adopt a previous dog yet it did not work out. I therefore brought rescue dog #2 to Dr. Frisch last week. As can be imagined, these dogs tend to have undergone significant rehab; Dr. Frisch took her time and energy to read through the plentiful vet records provided by the rescue organization/cooperative vet. In both instances she was thorough and prudent in her recommendations. I have heard that the VCA is an induced need model; yet, again, Ive experienced all of her recommendations to be professionally responsive to the animals needs and the owners preferences. In both instances she employed a professional ethic to not rush the visit and to dialogue over all issues and questions.Thank you, Dr. Frisch!

A few months ago, my daughter and I bought a new puppy. Weve been bringing Mocha to VCA MacArthur for all of his vet needs. The staff are very caring and nice. Mochas vet, Dr. Elkins, and the vet assistants are so sweet with him and are extremely knowledgeable. Mocha loves coming here to be seen. He was recently neutered by Dr. Frisch and she did a great job. I highly recommend this vet hospital to others. We have always had a positive experience and Jeffrey, who mans the front desk, always has a smile on his face and happily greets all incoming clients. Overall, the staff are great and I know Mocha is in good hands here. I wouldnt take him anywhere else.

I was a bit worried bringing my cat here at first cause of the low scoring they got but once i got here I was immanently proven wrong. The vet assistance were extremely nice and welcoming. Dr. Polk was AMAZING! Dr. Polk is new to VCAs staff and he is the perfect fit. They understood my financial issues and worked with me on what shots I needed to get and what I could wait on for later. They gave me so much info that I left txting my friends random facts I learned there. I am defiantly bringing my other animals there once I have the money. Just wish they were cheaper..

My two dogs have been to many a vet, all over the country, and Drs. Hassell and Polk are among the best. From seeing the dogs on short notice to thoroughly explaining everything they find, I always leave feeling as though my dogs actually have a health advocate. On top of all of this, the technicians, assistants, and administrative staff are friendly and accommodating. They even do most of the legwork with pet insurance claims. VCA McArthur is truly a neighborhood vet.

The care provided was fine, but the vet and staff tried to sell me on expensive tests unnecessary for a healthy cat. After the visit, I received numerous post cards stating that my cat was "due" for the treatments I had declined, and was sent a 6-month "Check-up" notice for my 2 year old cat. For those who are not aware, the standard is a YEARLY visit for cats under 7 years of age. They are quite obviously in the money making business, so be prepared if you visit.

Excellent care given to my cat today and terrific customer service. I didnt have a vet here in DC but now I do! The staff was so caring and Dr Hassell was sensible about options for my Isobels care [shes a little old lady].....special shout out to Jessica for listening patiently as I blathered on in panic because my cat was sick! Great experience and about what I expected to pay for her care. I will def bring her back.

Yet another Dr. Morris fan. He was fabulous. Now the bottom line drives this practice, as is often the case with a corporate structure. Prices are rediculous...twice what can be found up the street and in upper Georgetown. A friends dog was misdiagnosed, and subsequently died of a curable condition....but not before $4000 was spent on tests. When Dr. Moris left, so did the soul of this practice.

Have been coming here for many years and this practice continues to give me confidence that my pets are being well taken care of.....staff are welcoming and pet care is superb! Its a pleasure to find a place like this.

Agree with previous reviews entirely. They are highway robbers and have misdiagnosed our dog twice! Stay away!!!
