The front desk staff is very sweet, and I dont doubt that there are some high quality providers at this office. However, I saw Jessica Sheppard (PA) and was extremely disappointed. I thought that I would take a chance and see a young PA even knowing that PAs have minimal clinical experience before practicing. I was hoping that since she was young and was recently a grad student, she would be relatable. The only thing she has done for me is write referrals and order tests - she has zero regard, insight, or empathy. No matter how inexperienced one is, these things are the bare minimum that I expect from a provider. I need a primary care provider, NOT a social worker. She wouldnt even prescribe me birth control pills, she sent me to a gynecologist even for such a simple request. Ive told her since the first time that I saw her that I have intractable headaches that have been going on for the last 8 months or so. I have a history of a prolactinemia (tumor on the pituitary gland) that can cause headaches, so I had another MRI done, and it came back normal. I am extremely frustrated because she has only suggested that I try an antidepressant or try allergy medication - Ive tried allergy medication with no relief. I am not depressed. She more or less tried to convince me that I am depressed which I found extremely insulting. I work in psych and I am 2/3 of the way through a doctorate program in psychiatric nursing (she knows this), I have a very thorough understanding of depression. She has written me a referral for a neurologist because I said that I wanted a second opinion, but all neurologists in the area are scheduling at least a couple months out. I called the office today because I am on the third day of a headache that wont quit, and I have to go back to work. I have not asked for any medication nor wanted to be on any medication, but its getting difficult to function. I am not asking for narcotics or anything too strong, just something that will take the edge off enough for me to function. There are multiple headache/migraine medications that are not narcotics and have no abuse potential. I explained that if she cant help that I will likely have to go to an urgent care - which defeats the purpose of having a PCP. The office called me back and said that I will have to be seen again - even though she saw me a week or two ago, and nothing has changed since then. I work full time and am a full time graduate student - not to mention the fact that with my new insurance, I pay over $100 out of pocket for each visit since Ive not yet met my deductible. I am trying to make my health a priority, but I can not just clear my schedule and come to the office, especially when the last couple visits have gotten me nowhere. Overall, I am very disappointed both by her lack of caring and her lack of knowledge and insight. I am not going to continue wasting my time with this provider who has done absolutely nothing for me except send me off to specialists - it could always be worse, but I figured I would share my experience in case anyone else was considering giving it a shot with a young PA - I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Dr. Bowser is one of the best physicians I have ever seen. Caring, considerate, and he went out of his way to learn about my rare diseases. Jessica the PA, she could care less about me. I watched her as she played games on her phone.I found her to be very condensing & she could care less about me.

Awesome office staff and doctors. I called Wednesday December 7th I was so sick the lady on the phone got me an appointment for that day. Sometimes you have to wait but these things happen. I recommend this facility very highly.
